The Old Well

The Old Well
The Old Well serves as the visual symbol of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is the most famous campus landmark. The Old Well was given its current decorative form in 1897 and for years served as the only water supply for the Old East and Old West dormitories. It is said that the Old Well brings luck to any student who drinks from it on the first day of classes. Photo by lemily
