Computers: HawkWifi is a serious problem. I may fail a class because my internet dropped in the middle of an exam.

Computers: The big problem with our school is the wireless internet! It's the joke of the school and lets you down a lot but its honestly not as bad as it's made out to be. The computer availability is great in the library and they even have mac computers!

UNCW is definitely a tech-friendly university. The campus is nearly 100 percent wireless and has an extremely reliable network; plus, it's accepting of both Macs and PCs. A lot of students bring their own laptops to school, and when purchasing a computer, some great student discounts are offered through the University. Even if a student decides not to bring a laptop to campus, connection to the "cyber world" is not a problem. Students can check out Macs, PCs, and even chargers and headphones from equipment checkout in the library and Fisher Student Center for up to four hours. There are also a lot of computers located around campus, including multiple computer labs in the libraries, academic buildings, and residence halls. Computer labs in the library do fill up quickly, though, especially during the day and around final exams.

Whether it's computer or no computer, both options are feasible for students. TAC, the on-campus technology assistance center, is a very helpful resource. It can offer support for a lot of software issues and help with University programs, such as Blackboard. B1NAR1ES is the campus technology store and is the place for students to bring any hardware issues. Printers are located throughout the campus and are reliable and convenient. Students are automatically provided with $8 worth of printing each semester on their UNCW One Card. That's about 100 black and white prints. It's really simple to add more print credits, which is especially important for English majors, so there's no need for a personal printer!
