4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: You'd have to try a few places before you get a feel for the food here.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Greensboro is a very diverse area for all types of cuisine experiences. There is something for every budget, ethnic preference, ethical or environmental concern, etc.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I have a lot of dietary restrictions, so I haven't eaten a lot of the food on campus but know there is a large variety! There's lots of students coupons/discounts and it's all fairly cheap. I find myself eating at Chipotle frequently which is cheap and has a lot of options for people with food allergies/preferences! Even on campus, there's tons of options for whichever type of food you could be craving, and tons more just a few minutes off campus. Lots of chain restaurants as well as independent ones. I'd recommend Emma Keys Flat Top Grill if you're willing to pay a little extra for an EXCELLENT burger!

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: It's pretty basic, simple dining options.

4 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: Many places are good and cost is good.

Whatever type of food you're in the mood for, you can literally find it on Tate Street, which is adjacent to campus. From Asian to Italian to American to Mexican, your next meal is only a short walk away. In addition to locally-owned establishments, all of the major fast food restaurants and casual dining chains are in the Greensboro area, as well.

However, if you're tired of the same old menus at your usual haunts, break your habit by venturing to one of the local diners that have managed to win over UNCG's hungry hearts. If you can get past the rundown exteriors and the smoke-filled dining areas, you can snag a yummy burger at Jake's Diner or the tastiest sausage omelet of your life at Best Diner, both for under $5 each. Since both of these diners are open 24/7, they are perfect locations for those late-night cramming sessions when you need something in your tummy and a change of scenery. They may not be the cleanest restaurants you've ever visited or serve the healthiest meals you've ever ingested, but they are a crucial part of the UNCG experience.
