Facilities: There are a lot of hangout spots on campus, such as the Joe. We also have a great fitness facility, Lombardi Recreation Center.

Facilities: Constantly under construction, but that's because new facilities are being added each year

Facilities: Lots of new buildings, layout is good for social activities

Facilities: I'm always at the gym and I cant wait for the new athletic building in 2017 it will be great

  • All-Hall Olympics: At the end of each year, the Residence Hall Association puts on a series of competitions between all of the residence halls. The events are different every year, and the winning hall gets points that go toward winning the Hall Cup.
  • Mackay Week: Mackay Week honors John Mackay, an early patron of the university, and the mining industry of which he was a part. Events vary each year, but include many opportunities for free food, prizes and good times.
  • Undie Run: Undie Run is held on the night of Dead Day. Students show up in clothes that they wish to donate to charity, and then strip down for a run around campus in their undies. It's a great way for students to unwind before finals, and also be charitable.
Urban Legends
  • Leaving an offering to the statue of Mackay in the Quad will ensure good grades on your finals.
  • Mackay is supposed to haunt the old Getchell Library.
  • The SAE frat house has been rumored to be the site of a number of date rapes.
Favorite Things To Do
The Joe always has events going on in their ballrooms and they have a number of food places, including Panda Express and Starbucks. Students like to go to the Lombardi Rec Center, where there are pools, gyms, intramural sports, and drop-in workout and yoga classes. The Church Fine Arts building is the place to go for student productions, and musical performances by student ensembles. The residence halls often put on events where students can eat and win prizes, as with Casino Night and Family Feud events.
