As far as nightlife at Mount Union goes, students have a few stand-by favorites, but wish there were more options. There aren't many clubs in the area, and most Alliance bars don't exactly cater to college students. Some of the most popular places to be at night are restaurants like Chives, Wing Warehouse, Mango's, or sports bars like Tailgaters. Or, if you're up for a bit of a drive, check out the Dusty Armadillo or one of the clubs in Canton or Akron. Most area bars are only open to those 21-and-over, but a few places have 18-and-up nights. Students say that cover charges are reasonable, and the drink prices are average. The best way to get to the bar is to walk (if you're going somewhere near campus), or to find a designated driver.
On-campus nightlife is more convenient to get to, but still has limited options. There are some parties during the week, but the biggest and best are on the weekends. Fraternity parties are popular, especially since those under 21 can attend (but not drink). There are also house parties, but these are a little more risky because if there are people under 21 in the presence of alcohol (even if they're not drinking), everyone can get into trouble. For that reason, people tend to be secretive about hosting and attending parties, so the more people you know, the more you'll hear about the party scene. For nonalcoholic fun, your best bets are to check out the on-campus events thrown by student organizations, catch a cheap movie at the Carnation Mall, or take a trip off campus with Mount Union After Hours.
