Diversity: We have several groups and facilities dedicated to serving minority students of all kinds. Diversity is a huge component of Mizzou life.

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus, but I'm not around the "party" areas. I would be very uncomfortable in those kinds of situations so as far as I'm concerned, security is great.

Majors: I love being a psych major. The advisors and faculty are friendly, helpful, and seem to know just about everything. There is so much variety and so many opportunities to broaden my experience in my field,

Majors: I would love an internship but it's hard to get one as an undergrad psych major, since most internships are clinical.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Everyone on campus has so much spirit, especially during football season. It's wonderful and infectious.

Health & Safety: I used the Student Health Clinic a few times when I felt sick. They were quick and helpful. They also provided free services (part of the student fees, really).

I also felt very safe on campus. There were times when I, unwisely, walked around campus at night by myself. Luckily, nothing ever happened to me and I never felt uneasy at any time. There were safety stations where you could contact the campus police and they would come to that spot and escort you home.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many different eateries around campus but parking is a problem.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: As previously mentioned, I wish the Architectural Studies program is accredited.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I suggest for a closer attention from the counselor in class selections & placement.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Current housing is primarily for freshman and some sophomores.

Majority of sophomores & rest of upper classmen must live off campus. The apartment complexes closer to campus are older. Students must live further outside of campus to live in newer built complexes.

Academics: I hope for the Architectural Studies to be accredited.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: My parents have visited in May, June, July, August & September - all warm weather months so campus visits were leisurely.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Parents would probably flock to the campus to visit their students in more events especially Family Weekend if there were enough lodging available in town.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are many students off campus housing to choose from and many more are being built. I wish most were closer to campus.

Athletics: Varsity basketball and football are highly attended and broadcast on national television which contributes to the overall students' school pride and also parents' school pride.

The only drawback is the ticket price which I think is high.

Greek Life: I do not know enough other students who have shared their experience in Greek life on campus to provide a fair and informed rating

Transportation: Air transport from Chicago to Columbia's regional airport is expensive.

Bus transport between the two towns is available but times of departure/arrivals are limited as well as length of travel is lengthy at approximately 8 hours.

There is no direct rail transport between the two towns. One must travel from Columbia to St Louis then to Chicago.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Financial Aid counselors and office staff are informative and helpful during our initial encounter prior to freshman year and again before sophomore year.

Would appreciate a wider range of scholarships and grant programs so students do not have to depend on financial aid to pay for college.

Transportation: I don't really use the transportation too much, but when I do it's convenient.

1 College Freshman

Weather: Missouri weather is unpredictable and the winters here suck. They're cold, dark, and gloomy.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The gen ed classes are meh.

Mizzou offers so much to its students that it is hard not to fall in love with the school. The school provides many internships through your major and different work-study opportunities dealing with specific career paths. The difficulty of the classes and the toughness of professors prepare students for work outside of school. MU is unique because it gives students so many opportunities; whether you would like to be a football star or a vet, it offers both and everything in between.

If students had to go back and redo their college application process all over again, Mizzou would still end up being many students' choice. MU offers students a lot of opportunities to advance their career paths, minds, and friendship circles. The school has provided students with everlasting experiences and knowledge.
