Nightlife: I don't party, so I don't enjoy the parties which happen all the time

4 College Senior

Nightlife: There are a few choices based on what you are looking for. Most are nearby and fun to go to.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There are always a ton of parties going on, on any given night of the week. The party scene is there but not overwhelming, meaning that one can partake if one chooses -- but it's not in everyone's face all the time.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: I am not huge on going out or partying, but the few times that I have the experience was very good. Based on friends stories the night life in Ann Arbor is amazing.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There is a lot to do in Ann Arbor. The nightlife includes parties from greek life, house parties, and clubs (and some of the clubs are 18 and older).

Michigan nightlife varies depending on age and membership in social organizations. Students attend a mix of frat parties, house parties, and bars. Most Ann Arbor bars are reserved for upperclassmen and grad students, as they tend to be 21 and up. Members of the Greek community can be found at frat parties, which, depending on the night, are sometimes open to the rest of the student body. House parties are popular among non-Greek students, as many students seek off-campus housing following their freshman year. Students rave about Michigan's nightlife, saying that no matter who you are, you can always find something to do on the weekends. Your best bet is to attend an open frat party, as they are the best way to socialize, and meet new people—plus, drinks and entertainment are free. The state's new medical amnesty policy helps create a safe atmosphere in the case of underage drinking, but students should always remember to party responsibly.
