Transportation: I live in an "off-campus" dorm and we have our own buses, it is so reliable and efficient.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Its Michigan, we do have four seasons. Each season is exactly what you can imagine....winter sucks, but it's worth it when you go to the University of Michigan

4 College Freshman

Computers: The fishbowl is the place to be and a great place to mingle, but it can get reallllly busy.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: It's really prevalent in Greek life, that is alcohol, drugs on the other hand are used by people- but not everyone knows about it. Meaning I know a handful of people who do drugs, but I don't see it on the daily.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There's deff someone for everyone, just find your spot.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I'm having the time of my life!!!!

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There is enough diversity and you never feel alone.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Police do their job and keep us safe.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It can be hard to receive scholarships at a school like mine. The best tip is start early on your applications and apply for everything and anything.

Off-Campus Dining: There's so much good food here its unbelievable.

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus.

Academics: Academics are top notch no matter what school or department you are in. Professors are usually good, although you can always find the boring or unorganized one (but every school has those). Registration process is based on credits, so it can screw you over if you don't have a lot of credits or aren't ahead of your class. Michigan also has very classic majors, so don't expect to find specialized ones like HR or Hospitality Management.

Weather: Winters are snowy and extremely cold. Spring is perfect, campus is awesome during this time, as well as Fall when the weather gets a little chillier and the leaves are BEAUTIFUL. Summer is really hot and many campus housing units don't have air conditioning (the older ones). You definitely get to experience all 4 seasons, which is something I love. But be prepared for the long winter.

Drug Safety: Michigan is a smoke free campus, but many people definitely use drugs in their personal time. Since it's so common, it may be an easier environment to try. But I've never been treated differently based on my choice to participate or not.

Off-Campus Housing: Michigan doesn't have the nicest off-campus apartments, but there are a few new complexes that are more expensive but include more perks. You can find a variety of housing, from locations, apartments, houses. Overall they are of average quality, and landlords can vary greatly

Campus Housing: Most buildings have undergone renovations and are much nicer, cleaner, and spacious now. The older buildings aren't as good but are still very social, fun and great. Housing processes are really easy, the food can be really good but is usually okay, and central/hill housing units are close to everything. Getting housing on north campus can be more difficult but if you get used to the bus system, it's not that bad

Overall Experience: In my opinion, University of Michigan is the most well-rounded and enriching school. The academics are top notch, and most of our programs are in the top 10 if not 5 of the nation. Athletics are obviously amazing and huge part of the campus experience. It's incredibly fun. There are tons of different student initiatives and groups that you can join to make the experience personal, while being diverse at the same time. People are so nice, from all over the world, and great to learn from. I would chose my school time and time again. Some may be better in academics (or just one department), but lack the athletics. They may have the athletics, but lack the academics. Michigan is..perfect.

Athletics: Student involvement in athletics is amazing. Basketball and football are the two major sports that almost everyone on campus participates in. We have the biggest college football stadium and have over 100,000 people in attendance at every game. Students and alumni have so much pride in our team, so it makes everything so much fun. There is even a lot of support for smaller sports, including soccer, lacrosse, etc. Overall, athletics is a huge part of our campus life and it's awesome

Facilities: Student life is great and the campus is full of things to do. Most buildings are modern and clean, as the school undergoes reconstruction every year. There are still some old buildings but it adds a nice touch of different architecture and aesthetics to the overall campus. Libraries are great for studying although it's sometimes hard to find a spot during midterms/finals, and you need to know which library/floor to go to in order to accomplish what you need to. Campus tradition is obviously amazing and it gives me so much pride in my school. It's an experience of a lifetime

Weather: When it 's hot it's really hot and when it's cold it's really cold. Autumn and Spring are the best and it would be a perfect location if those seasons lasted longer.
