Scholarships: I recieved a lot of scholarships from my home town but it's pretty difficult to get a scholarship from the University of Michigan. Mainly because they don't give out scholarships directly from the University, many are from U of M alum. However, I did receive a loan through FAFSA if that is associated with the university?

Greek Life: Who Knows – I'm not involved in the Greek life so I'm not too sure on the housing situation, but there are quite a few big frats on campus. The parties are fun but seem to be a far walk from central campus. I'm a non-greek but I have a few friends who are greek students and they love it.

Guys & Girls: U of M Guys and Girls – Almost every girl is wearing some color North face and Uggs, while the men sport the U of M tee shirts and sweat pants. Both guys and girls at U of M are pretty cocky and full of themselves. Every now and then I'll run into a real attractive guy, but there's not too many around. The girls are pretty, but stuck up.

Local Atmosphere: Great Cultural Diversity – The local atmosphere in Ann Arbor is very diverse and culturally accepting. There are a multitude of activities including dining, arts, and athletics.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Most of the places right around campus are good for college students price wise. When you get to main street, however, the restaurants are pricey. Other than that, I'm happy with the prices at places such as Cosi and Jimmy Johns.

Campus Dining: I enjoy the variety of foods available at each dining hall. Sometimes, especially around break time, the menus can get kind of repetitive, so the variety is lacking around those times, but overall I enjoy the wide range of choices available to me.

Guys & Girls: Girls Are Hot – You will find people from all over the world a the University of Michigan. People are fun, hardworking, the girls are very hot always working out.

Overall Experience: Great School – University of Michigan is ranked among the top 5 universities in the country. My campus is close to home. It is a beautiful campus. The student body is diverse. I like the Ann Arbor community.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Bar Scene – House parties are common. There are lots of bars and clubs in the area. Cabs are readily available for safe transportation.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Apartments Are Epensive – Apartments are available but the ones with reasonable rent prices are below average as far as furnushings, common facilities, etc.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: All of the school buildings are close enough together that you can walk, but the rest of campus is pretty spread out. The bus system is pretty reliable during the week, but if you're on North Campus, its hard to get around on the weekends. You don't need a car, but it would be nice to have one- majority of freshmen don't bring cars. Really, you can walk pretty much anywhere as long as you don't mind it being cold

Academics: Ross Business School – Ross is one of the best business schools in the country for good reason. The classes are very hard, and there is a very strict curriculum so a lot of times you have to take classes you don't like. However, the quality of the classes are very good and you learn so much. The facility/resources are amazing- tons of professional resources for jobs and internships, clubs, advising, a nice cafe, and a beautiful workout facility. Huge companies are at Ross every day trying to recruit the students. Everything at Ross is top notch, just be prepared to work very hard!

Athletics: BIG Deal – Sports at Michigan are a huge deal. Pretty much every sport gets a ton of respect from the non-athlete population, and there are always fan sections at events, even gymnastics! Michigan students love their team, and you're always a Wolverine. The facilities are awesome too!

Diversity: TONS of People Here – Even in my first year, I met a ton of people from all over the world. There are lots of international students in my classes. There is also lots of campus activity having to do with tolerance and respect. We had to do a few mandatory workshops about sexism and womens issues.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I never feel unsafe on campus. The campus security is always about, so that's not an issue. I would say common sense is a good thing, because random acts of theft are unavoidable. Lock your dorm room when you leave, don't let random people into your room.

5 College Student

Parking: You don't ever need a car on campus, everything is within walking distance or you can take a bus with ease.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: The Students – I have been here for two years now and I still haven't ran into a person that wasn't willing to help. It seems like everyone is well mannered and is willing to help a stranger.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: The snow makes the buses run slower so you have to allow more time for travel.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Students are expected to do well. Some colleges within the university are more strict than others. But overall, you have to pass your classes or you will be put on probation.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Wide Variety – Dorms are good overall, though, obviously some better than others. Each dorm has a unique character and given the widespread campus, location also plays a big factor.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Connection Might Be Sketchy – There isn't wifi all over campus. For instance, West Quad dorms require an ethernet cable. However, some dorms like South Quad have recently installed wifi routers for the building, though some rooms have better connection than others.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: A Lot of Parties – Every weekend, there must be quite an amount of parties in nearby places. However, sometimes it is quite noisy.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Very Diversed Environment – The university of Michigan's campus is a very diversed learning place; in fact, it is among the most diversed universities in the U.S..

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Very Safe – Ann Arbor is a small campus town with its police force. Crimes here are rare and most of the residents are students.
