3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: I don't know much about any parties. I live off campus so its hard to be involved

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are several places right across the street but if you don't mind a walk then there are some more options

4 College Sophomore

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am very happy with my program and I would do it all over again

4 College Freshman

Majors: in order to get into the program you need to pass some criterias

4 College Freshman

Transportation: I think that they provide good options for transportation

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: the cultural events in the local area are really great

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: going to and from the grove is made easy with the transportation given by the school

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I think that we have a lot of school spirit and it shows in all of the games

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus so I wouldn't be the best help but it is really expensive to live on campus. I think that the food options we have are very good. ive been to a dining hall once and the food was pretty good (but expensive since I don't have a meal plan)

4 College Freshman

Computers: I think that printing on campus is great! they give you $150 to print for two semesters and trust me when I tell you that they last a lot. as for the wifi, it depends on the day. sometimes its fast and other times its reallyyyyyyy slow.

4 College Freshman

Academics: being a double major in finance and accounting is pretty tough but the faculty help a lot in leading you to the right road and the school is also great in providing many internship opportunities.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: very strict for many things but also vey lenient for others. the school is extremely strict on the honor code - violating this can and will get you expelled or suspended on the spot.

Despite daily griping about tuition costs, parking, thunderstorms, and hard classes, most students really seem to enjoy UM. Excellent attributes like the nightlife, weather, and culture seem to cancel out some of the bad things about being in Miami. For some students, these bad things include the unapproachable "hot" girls and guys on campus, while others find life in the dorms to be a challenge. The complaints about college are basically what you'd expect to hear anywhere. It appears that the bad things at UM really aren't that bad, but the good things are very good. Miami is one of the coolest cities in the world for a college student, and that goes deeper than just the superficial bar and club scene.

Students who are unhappy generally figure it out within a semester and transfer out of UM, usually to somewhere closer to home. College is tough, especially the first couple weeks if you come without knowing anyone. Making a whole new group of friends for the first time since kindergarten is one of the hardest and most stressful things you may ever have to do. But the end result of this process is friendships that you'll likely maintain for the rest of your life. Whether it's your roommate, classmates, fraternity brother, or sorority sister, college is a time when you should make friends and have fun. Despite the initial challenges of coming to college, there are few cities in the world that are as fun as Miami.
