Off-Campus Housing: Few options , easy access

Campus Housing: As a freshman you get 3 choices of dorms, the best is UT because that's where mostly everyone lives and it is suite style. The RA's are always having meetings to get people involved and social gatherings. The cost is $300 deposit for 2 semesters, $150 deposit for 1 semester. All dorms are on campus so it is very convenient and we also have a shuttle bus to take you to man places on campus and off. As Upperclassman you also have to choose 3 options of apartment style living on and off campus. Clusters, Student apartments, Ardens, and Talons North. The housing process is very first come first serve bases you must apply for housing as early as 8am and after 8:10am all the housing is filled and there is a possibility you won't receive what you wanted.

Athletics: Our best sports at UMES are the bowling team and volleyball. Not a lot of school support when it comes to these two but they are consistently winning first place at most of there games/ competitions. Our basketball team gets the most support but they aren't that good but they have potential we believe they can do better.

Guys & Girls: its like your average campus but the ladies are treated right by the gentlemen and the same for the gentlemen as well and thats great for a college.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: the college has clean rooms which is a good thing. The buildings are well-built and durable for any college student.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: now my religion is the same since I was young but I would accept 95% of all religions because I know that the world has many and different religions and there cannot be just one or I think our world be a little dull

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: now if you lived only 60min or less from the college then i would live off-campus. It save's you money in the long run in my opinion

4 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: One thing that just about all students at UMES take pride in is the way they dress and their appearance. They all have an active social life and for the most part, take part in social activities and events on campus.

2 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: The drug scene at my school is steadily increasing. Most students do partake in marijuana usage and are becoming to be more public about it. I would not be surprised if students drug usage began to affect their performance in school.

3 Recent Alumnus

Local Atmosphere: The cities of princess anne and salisbury are very different from my original hometown; Brooklyn, New York. It is rural and not really up to date with the modernization of the world today. Students eventually adapt but with nothing to do off campus, it causes a more parties and social events on campus.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is a great school because it’s not far from home for the many students who come from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area and tuition is not extremely expensive. Another plus is that the campus is large but the student body is not. This allows students and teachers to make and maintain great relationships. The availability of classes and other resources is another plus here.

And the University is only on the rise. Buildings have been added and the campus is expanding, which has allowed for the number of students, faculty, and programs on campus to grow, as well. Recent programs that have become available at UMES include aviation and pharmacy, which have brought good media attention to the campus, and in turn, brings even more students to the University. These great programs and others make it nearly impossible for a student not to find a job or go on to grad school after graduating with a bachelor’s from UMES. The University’s uniqueness is what brings students to the campus. No other campus has the same levels of diversity, individuality, and family-oriented spirit that is found at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
