Transportation: It's really useful especially at night or when it's cold.

Local Atmosphere: There aren't many things to do in Maryland or so it seems because things are very spread out.

Athletics: Students are very involved with sports, which includes watching varsity sports or participating in club sports and intramurals.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of places to eat right off of campus.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Chipotle is convenient and cheap. Many ethnic restaurants nearby.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Pouring rain affects walking to class. Overall, weather is okay.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Everyone is very spirited and supportive of all sports teams. Large fan crowds at every game.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The curriculum is challenging and relevant and the registration process is surprisingly hassle free. These two attributes make attending online courses very enjoyable.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: I only take online classes but the diversity of students within the classes is always fun to learn about. Most all of my peers in classes come from a military background and their ages vary widely. It is difficult to identify other areas of diversity in an online setting unless a specific classroom discussion explores topics that would elicit responses including personal opinions about certain topics.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am active duty Military and transferred from AMU to UMUC to pursue a Major that was not offered at AMU. The process was extremely easy and everyone was very friendly. All but one of my courses were accepted for transfer credit and I also received several transfer credits for professional military schools and professional certifications. UMUC got me enrolled and started in classes right away which is exactly what I was needed.

3 College Freshman

Majors: The instructors are knowledgable and provide relevant information on current events shaping the IT workplace. Some of the courses require enrollment in Computer Based Training programs that cost upwards of $100. This cost is in addition to books and tuition.
