4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics are good depending on what team you are talking about.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: It isn't a bad school, tremendous athletic training program

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: UMPI has excellent athletic teams. We even have a girl that is from California who plays on our means varsity baseball team. She is one of the best players on the team. The fact that the guys are accepting and non judgmental about this makes the athletics that much better. Our sports team members are well rounded individuals with a sense of where they are heading in life. I personally just started living on campus this year and so far I have not heard a thing about intramural sports.

3 College Senior

Athletics: I have been an athlete for 4 years and also involved in the Athletic Training program. A lot of the students at UMPI are athletes, and fitness is a big part of the student body's priorities. Team performance is so-so. UMPI is a small D3 school, so sometimes the emphasis is more on participation than performance. At the same time, this can allow someone to try a new sport and get involved. The athletic facilities are great- Gentile Hall is a wonderful resource, the athletic training staff and students are phenomenal, and the campus is surrounded by farm roads and snowmobile trails that are great for long runs. UMPI is also in close proximity to two world-class nordic skiing facilities that are free to ski at any time of the day!

4 College Student

Athletics: Being a freshman, I didn't know what to expect. I soon found out. I played fall baseball which was fun and involved no traveling. I then started dry land training for the Nordic ski team. This year was the 1st year for the coach ( which by the way is one of the top 10 best coaches in the country). Once snow arrived we did a lot of traveling. Evey meet was at least a 10 hour drive one way. The school agave us money for food and packed snacks for our ride. This is also the 1st year that UMPI was Division 1 NCAA. We had a good year, with next year to be even better.
