Campus Housing: Due to Machias being such a small school, there are two residents halls and both are within a five minute walk of most - if not all classes. I've only lived in one dorm building, but from my experience it's much better than most of the horror stories that I hear from bigger campuses like Orono. There's one small dorm kitchen and lounges on every floor, as well as two laundry rooms. The housing process is a lot more lax than most campuses. What most call a "lottery", we just give upperclassmen first pick and then go down the ranks.

Campus Housing: it is good to live on campus but economically better to live off campus

Campus Housing: The dorms were built a while ago, so they aren't set up with all of the new things. All of the walls are concrete, so wifi on campus isn't the best. Everybody is very nice and people on campus are very sociable.

Campus Housing: Upperclassmen: Move Off – First and second year students who live further than 50 miles away are required to live on campus but after that I would suggest moving off campus. If you can try to live in Dorward Hall. This is the newer building and has the suites and singles option. With that said the heating system in both buildings is terrible. One room could be a blazing sauna while the one across the hall is an ice box!
