Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Certain departments, such as nursing, require an initial application and then an upper-level application after a period of study.
  • Demonstrate leadership in high school by being involved in clubs and activities.
  • Double check that UL receives all your materials: the actual application, the application fee, test scores, and official transcript.
  • SAT and ACT scores are viewed the same way here, so focus on whichever is easier for you and excel at it.
  • Submit everything on time.
  • Take your high school education seriously-you will be more likely to get in and to receive financial aid.
  • You must have taken the following credits in high school: four language arts, three math, three science, three social studies, 1/2 health, 1/2 physical education, one history and arts, two foreign language, and seven electives.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • About campus organizations
  • How the bus system worked
  • How to get around downtown Louisville
  • How to sign up for an advising appointment
  • More about the dining services
  • The value of attending supplemental instruction (SI) for hard classes
Interviews & Information Sessions
A one-hour information session begins each campus visit, so you will not need to book one separately. Interviews are not required.
Campus Tours
Student-guided tours of campus are offered through the Campus Visit Program, which is a one-hour information session followed by a one-hour tour. This program runs Monday through Saturday. You can also request an appointment to meet with a departmental representative after the tour and information session, but a two-week notice is required for this. To schedule a campus visit, fill out an online registration form at louisville.edu/admissions/visit/hs.
Overnight Visits
U of L does not offer overnight visits.
