Campus Housing: Existing dorms are pretty gross but there are plenty new being built

2 College Student

Campus Housing: The dorms suck. Live in central campus. South campus has the most people but it's not as close to campus and it has crappy dorms. Do not live on north campus, it is social suicide.

1 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The rooms and restrooms are in terrible shape, they smell bad even after being "cleaned" and they cost more than they are worth.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The older dorms on south campus are pretty bad but the newer ones are nice. But its worth sucking it up for a year cause you meet some great people.

1 College Junior

Campus Housing: They're building new dorms now though.

An integral part of college life for any student is the journey of self-discovery. The best way to learn about your own personal limitations as a human is to live in a dormitory at Kentucky. You will learn what true compromise is and maybe even come out of it all with a few good friends. Most students live in the dorms for at least one year and hate it the entire time because the rooms are old and small. Ask them a few years later, and they will tell you they had the time of their life.

Each section of campus dorms has its own stigma. The south campus dorms are supposedly where the noisy people live and provide quick trips to the south campus fraternity houses. North campus has a reputation for being the serious side where the honor students live. They are also closer to classes, so maybe that really is where the smart people choose to live. Wherever you choose to live, enjoy the inevitable fun that happens when hundreds of young people live in a building together without any adult supervision. (Mattresses work great on stairs.)
