Off-Campus Dining: you would think for a campus in the middle of no where the cuisine would represent that. However, with the global diversity of this campus off campus dining is really fantastic! there is such a large variety of foods you won't have enough time in your college career to try it all .

Facilities: What I love about this university is the history it gives off. The building are old but beautiful, and each year the school has renovated building making them better and even more magnificent to admire. Our union is the best place to study and to nap, or even get a snack. I tend to go there and shoot pool with my friends too. The campus is so large there are many different aspects to enjoy.

Athletics: We are a D1 school which means we have great athletics here on campus. Every year the university tries to build support and better departments. The athletic facilities are awe inspiring, however our football team is never the best of the best. We have been to a few bowls though. The crown jewel of sports for us is our basketball team, we typically have a great team and a fantastic student section.

Facilities: UIUC is a very vibrant campus. Many of the buildings have been renovated and the campus has many options for recreation. At UIUC there is something for everyone. There is a club for every interest and a place or setting for every personality. UIUC is also a liberal medium for individuality and expression. This school allows a student be who they are as long as it doesnt intefere with the rights or needs of other students or staff. UIUC has a campus community largely run by students. Students determine most of the campus events, activities and tradtions. There are also several athletic facilities, libraries, restaurants, cafes and lounges. UIUC is also a very physically attractive campus; beautified with statues, fountains, trees and flowers.

Academics: I feel that uiuc in general should provide more student support in terms of opportunities for jobs and careers and in the area of financial aid for school. The college of ACES at uiuc provides high quality educational experience and requires a reasonable workload and a challenging academic envirornment. Moreover, most of the academic staff is very nurturing and helpful.

Off-Campus Dining: There are all of the usual restaurants around campus. There are some ma and pa shops that serve pretty good food and I think those are the best.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: It is a very good school to attend. There is a lot of majors here that are very good programs and they get a lot of respect in industry. The only thing is that there is a lot of work.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: U of I is a great engineering school and I feel that I am getting a good education. The only thing is that there is a ton of work to do.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: It is alright. There is not much free parking and the meters are expensive.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The food here is pretty good, but it can get old after a while. I wish they had more healthy options here.

4 College Junior

Transportation: The public transportation system at U of I is great because it is quick and efficient.

Campus Housing: The freshman dorms that I lived in were dirty and old. I would not have lived anywhere else though. Also, my dorm has been torn down and new very nice dorms are built. The dorms are friendly and fun.

Diversity: Illinois is extremely diverse. There are many countries represented on the campus. This allows for students to learn about different cultures and customs. Not only does the school offer an amazing learning atmosphere in the classroom, but the campus allows students to be constantly stimulated and learning.

Majors: It is a very versatile program and I like it a lot.

Health & Safety: The campus is safe and you feel secure walking alone.

Weather: It's changes just like in any other city. You just have to adjust to it.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking is amazing because no one really has cars, however, you need a parking permit which allows you to park anywhere on campus. There are some places where they have meters, but they are free on weekends.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There is always a bus there when you need to get around. If it is late and yo are stuck at the library, we have a system called safe rides and they can pick you up where ever you are on campus and take you to wherever you need to go; it is included in tuition, so I recommend to take advantage of this service. You don't always need to use it just to go home you can use it to get from party to party sometimes. My friends have done that.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There is a variety of guys and women. My school is tremendously diverse so you get people with different interest and styles. aside form that everyone is into working out ad staying healthy. The gym is really close, so it always being used. The campus is very beautiful, so even just jogging around will the do the trick. However, my school's greek community is huge! So thats where it narrows down everyones interest although they may have different taste to other things. You'll always have greeks in your class room; it is good to network with them because you can get hook ups in many different ways.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I'm satisfied with my choice of major. I knew it would be tough just because engineering is not a walk in the park. Although I didn't put in enough effort into studying and I regret that. The lack of motivation really comes back to bite you in the butt when the exams come. However, I'm looking to change all of that these upcoming years. My goal is to get a computer engineering internship maybe junior year and hopefully land a job in any company really (there's too many to list).

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I have not lived off campus yet. I am still currently residing in the dorms.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of places to eat off of campus especially in downtown Champaign. Being a freshmen though, I tend to stay on campus on eat on Green Street.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There a numerous bus stops around campus with buses coming around every few minutes. However, the wait for transportation off campus is a little longer. I'm not complaining though.

2 College Senior

Greek Life: Only for parties, and some houses look like they are trashed from last night's parties

4 College Junior

Facilities: The campus bar scene is totally unique to U of I. With some bars dating back to when my parents went to this school, and others newly opened the scene is both modern and historic. And only having to be 19 years old to get into the bars, they're the place to be at night.

One might expect some tentative and even negative opinions about any school, but this is truly not the case here at U of I. Students are proud of U of I’s history, proud of is academic accomplishments, proud of the social opportunities it offers, and, most of all, they are proud to be alumni. For so many students to view their choice to come here as an unequivocally good one is a fantastic testament to the University’s strength.

Of course students here have plenty to complain about—the weather, the parking, the Greek social scene, the rural location. But all things considered, the positive points of the U of I experience tipped the scale—the University’s academic excellency, the safety, the social atmosphere, the athletic tradition, the city’s excellent transportation system. Some students admitted that they had a hard time adjusting, that they occasionally wished they had made another decision—but in the end, they were all happy to be here. The most encouraging fact was that so many people mentioned that they were leaving as better people, more knowledgeable, eclectic, and better equipped to navigate through life. University of Illinois students do not just leave with a piece of paper in their hands, they leave with a wealth of experience that is not easily rivaled—and, for in-staters, without enormous debt burdens to face when they graduate.
