Off-Campus Housing: Plenty of off campus living options. Living on campus is also great.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a few good places to stay off campus but it is very hard to acquire the living space you have to book a year in advance.

Off-Campus Housing: The closer you are the campus, the more expensive the rent, but it's still not too bad - average rent is about $700/m if you within walking distance to the campus. I found a room in a nice, big, 5-bedroom, 3-bath, two story house just 3 miles away from campus with a nice view of Mauna Kea (the most famous mountains on the island) for $400/m - $300 for rent and $100 for utilities. Roommates may vary, but for the most part, people here in Hilo are very friendly.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is first come first serve. You have to pay rent and also get food, can be somewhat expensive.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live on a different island, but when I come to campus for the annual on-site, it is almost impossible to find a place to stay.
