4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Not so rowdy that on school nights you're unable to sleep or get work done, but not boring either. Lots of students go to the bars, which is annoying if you are underage/ don't have a fake.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There is a nightlife both on and off campus.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The nightlife is good, there are over 100 clubs and organizations that always put on anything from day trips to the city to casino nights and paint balling events. There is also Spring Fling which is a two day out door concert event on the village lawn that happens right before finals. It was a great way for kids to wind down right before finals and studying for that to start. There is really no reason to be bored here unless you don't go looking for things to do

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: Pretty bland, no parties really, and they get shut down even when people do decide to host.

1 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The party scene died along time ago. I'm a sophmore and their have been a significantly less and less parties every semester

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students at the University of Hartford like to party, and it is very evident on the weekends when everyone usually goes out. Many students frequent clubs in the Downtown Hartford area, including Palace, Club Life, NV, and Passion. All of these clubs are about 15 minutes from campus and are 18+ to party and 21+ to drink, so underage students can still at least enjoy a night out. The covers are usually small, and many even offer free admission before a certain time, usually 10 or 11 p.m. There are also many bars in the Downtown area, including several sports bars where students can go to watch a game and enjoy a drink if they are of age. Pour House, next to Palace, is popular among students because of its cheap drink specials. However, there are not a ton options in Hartford, so students will sometimes travel to other parts of Connecticut to find a good party.

On campus, partying is not exactly encouraged, but some students occasionally choose to celebrate in their rooms. Public Safety and the RAs will usually look past parties being thrown if they are under control and everyone is safe and obeying laws. Otherwise, they are forced to shut them down. Some campus organizations throw occasional parties as fundraisers or to celebrate holidays, like Halloween. All students are welcome at these events, and Public Safety is there to supervise and monitor. As long as the students are well behaved and the music is good, these parties are usually a success!
