3 College Freshman

Nightlife: no one goes out in the winter, its too cold and if youre not in greek life youll prob be sober all year long

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Okay 'it's great' may be pushing it, but the bar scene here is awesome. "Thirsty Thursdays" are an often celebrated holiday with a select group of students. The campus bars are exciting and always something to look forward to. Other than that, off campus parties are lacking most of the year, except in September-October and April-May. When the weather gets nice, people spend more time outside which leads to the quads being fun and lively. If the weather was nicer at this school, campus nightlife would be a bit better.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I do not have much experience with the nightlight. We party in the dorms.

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: If you aren't involved in Greek Life or play rugby then night life sucks.

Nightlife: Unless you like getting hammered in the village, it kinda sucks. Off-campus there's downtown Hartford and the bars, but I've never been a fan. I usually hang out with my friends off-campus or play music at Hartt.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students at the University of Hartford like to party, and it is very evident on the weekends when everyone usually goes out. Many students frequent clubs in the Downtown Hartford area, including Palace, Club Life, NV, and Passion. All of these clubs are about 15 minutes from campus and are 18+ to party and 21+ to drink, so underage students can still at least enjoy a night out. The covers are usually small, and many even offer free admission before a certain time, usually 10 or 11 p.m. There are also many bars in the Downtown area, including several sports bars where students can go to watch a game and enjoy a drink if they are of age. Pour House, next to Palace, is popular among students because of its cheap drink specials. However, there are not a ton options in Hartford, so students will sometimes travel to other parts of Connecticut to find a good party.

On campus, partying is not exactly encouraged, but some students occasionally choose to celebrate in their rooms. Public Safety and the RAs will usually look past parties being thrown if they are under control and everyone is safe and obeying laws. Otherwise, they are forced to shut them down. Some campus organizations throw occasional parties as fundraisers or to celebrate holidays, like Halloween. All students are welcome at these events, and Public Safety is there to supervise and monitor. As long as the students are well behaved and the music is good, these parties are usually a success!
