3 College Sophomore

Facilities: Campus is okay. In the fall and spring it's alive and pretty, with many people around and hanging out. In the winter, it's pretty dead because it's so cold.

Our school is unique because it's small enough that you don't feel lost, but the residential and academic side being separated really gives the feel of being in a big community.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Probably the best part time on campus is when the sun is out, weather is nice and everyone is out on the lawn hanging and catching some sun. Having twp huge lawns allows students to hang out with their friends and through a Frisbee or football around. As for our building there have been a lot of renovations over the four years that I have been here to give them a face lift. Regardless of what they may look like, they allow for students to build a community within them and grow as an individual.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The Professors are great but not all of them really care about what they are doing. They can also be very strict and not very understanding of situations that students can go through

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The University has put in a lot of time and effort into making the facilities more accommodating and exciting for students, and there have been many recent renovations on campus. The main dining hall, The Commons, was renovated to make things more accessible and provide more space, and new doors were added to the outside to improve its appearance. In 2009, Gengras Student Union, where many students spend time between classes, underwent a huge transformation. New food places and larger spaces were added, the cafeteria got new tables and funky bar-style chairs in neon colors, and a game room was put on the lower level and features pool, ping-pong, air hockey, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, and a Dance Dance Revolution game, which is very popular among the students. The University also works hard to maintain the aesthetics of campus. Grass and trees are planted in the spring to make the campus look presentable. Due to the weather, these efforts often go unnoticed by the student body, but the facilities staff does its best to make the campus look great.

Some of the most used facilities on campus are the Sports Center and the library. The Sports Center is open every day and is free to use by all undergraduate students. It has a pool, locker rooms with saunas, and boxing equipment on the first floor, and fully equipped fitness rooms with everything from free weights to elliptical machines on the second floor. The center is also home to Chase Arena, where basketball games and special events are held, and an intramural gym for IM basketball and volleyball games. Outside of the center, there is an outdoor pool, baseball and softball field, tennis courts, and several recreational fields. All of the facilities in and around the Sports Center are in good condition. The library does a good job accommodating the students and their needs. Complete with computers, printers, a vast amount of books, and private study areas on all three floors, the library is perfect. There is also a cafeteria conveniently located in front of the library. In general, while many of the buildings on campus are not new (with the exception of the freshman dorm, Hawk Hall), the facilities staff does its best to make sure that they all look good and are in working order.

"Green" Initiatives
The campus has made tremendous efforts to go green. All information for students and parents is now sent electronically instead of on paper, and payments are made online. Portions of campus are powered by solar power, and solar panels can be seen on top of several buildings. Solar compactors are being installed around campus, and there is a slow progression to get recycling bins in every part of campus. There is also an organization on campus called Cleaning Up Public Spaces (CUPS) that is dedicated to helping the University become more green.
