Scholarships: The Office of Financial Aid at Georgia is hardworking and efficient. If you have any questions it would be best to go in and have a meeting one-on-one with your financial aid counselor instead of trying to figure it out online. The cut off for needs-based aid is relatively low, meaning you can be lower middle class and still be too wealthy to need financial aid. However, the merit scholarships for both in-state students and out-of-state students is phenomenal, as long as your GPA and test scores are relatively high.

Scholarships: I file as an independent student, so I may get more aid than other students, but I still have to pay loans. I didn't have to pay any or much out of pocket when starting.

Scholarships: Calling or going over to the financial aid office is better help than trying to figure things out on your own. It was a hassle especially with the confusing questions.

Scholarships: They really only reward scholarships to incoming freshman, so older students get no help from them and even then they only give away a few scholarships to those freshman and the amount is typically small.
