Drug Safety: Drinking Is Over-Rated – U.G.A has strict policies on underage alcohol consumption. It is frowned upon and not tolerated. Athens is an amazing college town with many great spots for night life. However, if one governs themselves accordingly trouble can be averted.

Guys & Girls: The students at UGA are diverse, but many of the students are a bit on the preppy side. A mix of good ol' boys and redneck preps. The girls are hot and preppy.

Campus Dining: It is great! Your meal plan is unlimited and 24 hours a day! LET THE BIG DAWG EAT! http://www.foodservice.uga.edu/

Off-Campus Housing: River Mill Appartments – It is great here! Rent is at about the medium level for off campus housing. They do roommate matching and maintenance is quick.

Health & Safety: Campus Completely Safe – The Campus is safe but the surrounding area is not.

Academics: Endless Possibilities – I love how there are so many different subjects to choose from for core classes. However, since they can be such a broad topic, it's more like a tease than learning much.

Academics: Hands-On Fun – I studied animal science and was given the opportunity to work hands-on with many varieties of species. Labs consisted of going to different farms, so the experience was messy but fun.

Guys & Girls: Nerdy Boys & Beautiful Flowers – If you're a woman seeking only studs, UGA is not the best campus for you. However, you will find sweet guys who are far from arrogant. If you're a man, you will not be disappointed.

Facilities: Always Something to Do – The University of Georgia is an exciting school located in unique Athens Georgia. It doesn't matter who you are or what you like to do. There is something for everyone here!

Greek Life: Greeks Do Not Dominate the Campus – Greeks are there on campus for a variety of reason. Some are partying houses, some are religious houses and others are for academics but they do not take over campus life. There is so many other activites it is not necessary to have to belong to a Greek community.

Health & Safety: Totally Safe – I have never felt unsafe on campus. There is campus police visable at all times of the day and there are panic buttons located in key places. The campus is very prompt in alerting the students to potential dangers such as an bad weather, suspious activity or a missing student.

Off-Campus Housing: Athens Is a Small Town So Apartments Are Selective. The apartments very from comfortable to ok. The campus is surronded by low income housing so to get a decent apartment students have to take buses to campus and back. The cost is some what reasonable but the convenience is lacking.

Athletics: Varisity Sports is very important at UGA. We have students in some of the sports like tennis and swimming that go on to be professionals and qualify for the Olympics. For example, in tennis, Isner is a UGA graduate. The university also spends a lot of money on IM sports and has many teams for studens to be involved in.

Computers: Getting Better – Labs aren't as numerous as they should be and aren't open 24 hours a day, and printing can be inconvenient. I would suggest having your own printer and computer, if possible. However, the quality of computers is high, the network is fast and secure, and there's a wireless network that covers the entire campus, which is great for laptops to be accessed during class, between classes, etc.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Great Football School, Other Sports Are Big Too – Every student at UGA is affected by the football program, whether they are huge fans before they step on campus or not. Some of the other teams are also well-respected, such as the women's softball team and gymnastics team, and other sports are big simply because they're popular anywhere, like basketball and baseball. The intramural sports are diverse, and anyone can get up a team or join an existing one.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Safe but Friendly Campus – Students and visitors are allowed pretty free rein of the public parts of campus, and it's a beautiful campus to visit or explore. However, despite its openness to the outside world, it still feels safe and like its own world. The only strict policies involve private areas of campus, such as dorms, and these rules are in place to protect students, and they're all reasonable.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Middle of Campus Safety on Weeknights – I feel safe on Georgia's campus. However, walking back by the Russell and Creswell dorms at night after studying at the slc you have to walk by public housing where there have been multiple break ins and problems over the years. I walk alone at night, although I probably shouldn't, but I definitely feel more safe when a guy is walking me back to my dorm.

Computers: Plenty of Space – The computer labs at UGA are not usually crowded as most people have a laptop or PC on campus with them.

Parking: Do Not Bring a Car – The University of Georgia does not allow students to park on campus during the school hours and parking is very limited when available. You will be better off just walking, taking a bike, or using the shuttle system to get around on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Kind of Diverse – UGA is predominantly white however while I was there I have met people of all kind, people of all races religions and sexual orientations.

Overall Experience: It's Pretty Cool! I really liked UGA. Personally I feel like it is a difficult school academic wise but if you do do well in the school you know that you have accomplished a lot. It is a very great school club wise also.

Off-Campus Dining: East West – East West is a very nice restaurant that would be ideal for taking a date out or for taking you parents out if you would want to go somewhere nice. The most expensive thing on the menu is probably no more than $25. It is very convenient because it is right downtown. However if you would be driving there it may not be as convenient since parking is a bit difficult to find. The restaurant is oriental and western foods combined. It is very interesting and tasty!

Parking: Parking is great... IF you register on time. If you don't register on time you could get placed on the wait list for a very long time

Facilities: Student Center Is Great – The student center at UGA is called the Tate Center. Lots of students go there to hang out between classes and have a great time.

Scholarships: A Bit of a Foreign World – Financial Aid at UGA is really difficult to come by in scholarship for. More than half the student body is in HOPE/Zell scholarship, and a decent number get UGA aid too. The Financial Aid office though is really a hard nut to crack as a normal outsider student. The workers there will help you though if you go in knowing what you are looking for. If you don't really know though it can be a long a difficult process. They do try to help though and are always available for walk ins which is a lot more than can be said for other colleges. Best advice is to walk in knowing what you want to talk about and you will likely get pointed in the right direction at least.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
