Guys & Girls: Southern Girls and Guys. Aaron Murray...need I say more? People at UGA are athletic, hospitable, and extremely good-looking.

Academics: UGA has just about any class you can imagine. The only downside is that some of the really interesting classes are only offered sporadically. But if you plan ahead, you can get some really awesome courses.

Health & Safety: Parts of Athens are pretty rough, so its important that campus PD and the police are present. I feel totally safe on UGA's campus and the emergency system is great. The university health center will give you everything you need to stay healthy.

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of small owned restaurants. It's not too bad. give some of them a try. youll end up finding one you like.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: You have to have a parking permit to park at school and it's quite the cost. Parking downtown Athens is a big hassle. Walk!

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: The food is really decent at UGA with a lot of varied options and several dinning halls around campus. Plus the meal plan is really great because you can go in and out of the dining halls as much as you want and eat as much or as little as you feel inclined.

3 College Junior

Computers: Really nice computer labs however the network connection isn't always the best. I've waited for long periods of time trying to log into one before. The labs can also be really crowded.

Local Atmosphere: Athens is a really nice college town and offers a lot of nice places to eat and hangout. UGA is always a hub of all kinds of activities, not just the football and party scene it is often noted for. The performing arts are alive and well on campus with events of all kinds including affordable theater, opera, and symphony performances.

5 College Junior

Academics: It is a harder school but it comes with benefits of a better education. The trick is to be able to afford it.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Great local hot spots and at great college town prices.

Campus Strictness: The strictness enables students to be well disciplined.

Campus Housing: The dorms are great and also have an excellent amenities.

Greek Life: The Greek life at UGA is very popular and extremely involved in the community. Fraternities and Sororities are ranked in three tiers determined by social history, annual philanthropy success, and academic involvement. There are currently 61 different greek organizations sporting an extremely diverse student body. The social scene at night is typically ran by the greek life as the majority of bar employees are respected members of greek organizations. Joining the greek life at UGA will allow you to make life-long friends and it will lead to a very memorable college experience, however if you find that it is not for you then DO NOT WORRY! UGA offers hundreds of clubs to allow you to get involved and meet new people.

Athletics: Football is everything at UGA. There would be a bunch of tailgaters on game days, and everyone is wearing black, white, or red. The stadium is huge and you can hear the cheering a mile away. The athletic facilities are huge and up to date.

Nightlife: I'm the type that studies and doesn't go partying, so I wouldn't know what to say. Downtown Athens and the fraternities and sororities parties, however, are the places to be if you want to have a fun time. It takes 30 minutes for buses to come at night, so it can be frustrating.

Local Atmosphere: Athens has a great small town atmosphere. The people are very friendly. There are plenty of tourist attractions, malls, and restaurants .In addition, their is always a fun sporting event going on at any given time. U of G has great sports teams, most especially the football team. Tailgating and football games are the highlight of the Athens life. Overall Athens is a safe town and the local highlights make college life there very enjoyable.

4 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: Few students seemed to be involved in drugs and alcohol. Occasionally students were seen drinking in the downtown area.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of fast food places and resturants in downtown Athens and in the surrounding area. There is everything from Chinese to Mexican to southern soul food.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Fan support is excellent at UGA. It's such a big deal to go to the games, and I know people that drive 5 hours just to watch from the nose bleed seats. That is dedication.

Campus Dining: We have one the best food programs in our dinning halls in the country. There is always a variety of choices, and they're all good.

5 College Junior

Facilities: My school's love of football and the whole town is amazing. People are dedicated to our team and their goals. It is a very big part of going to UGA.

5 College Junior

Facilities: On UGA's campus there is always something to do. Whether it's a game at Sanford Stadium or an event at Tate, there's always a fun atmosphere in Athens.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Varsity sports at UGA are huge! The campus pretty much revolves around football in the fall. Other sports are big too and very enjoyable.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It rains a lot so when you forget your umbrella or raincoat, it gets pretty miserable. But other than that, it's beautiful in the fall and spring.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
