3 College Sophomore

Diversity: People seem to be tolerable with every type of race/ethnicity/all backgrounds, but they do not mix. People tend to stick to their own groups.

Campus Dining: So many options at any time of the day. The food tastes pretty good. I have no complaints.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: I use my own form of transportation, but friends of mine haven't had any major issues with convenience, and to my knowledge it is pretty cheap to use MegaBus if you purchase your ticket in advance, and there is a shuttle right on camps that can take you to the Atlanta airport.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The system is kind of old, but it serves its purpose

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I participate in intramurals and work out at fitness center.

Guys & Girls: Haven't been here long enough yet to judge.

Local Atmosphere: Athens has historical theaters and art and music museums and the shopping is great

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: I never miss a home game. UGA football is a part of our family tradition.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The Atlanta airport is fairly far. Most people have a car and park it while at school and drive home.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Weather you want vegetarian or the biggest steak or fresh hot cookies and ice cold milk at 3:00 in the morning...UGA has it all

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: If you have a concern in the dorm, you can contact the RA. They are on it at once

3 College Sophomore

Parking: If you have a car you are assigned a parking slot. I usually take the bus around campus

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have used the health center and they are super. UGA has a system where you create an account at the beginning and all we have to do is email for an appointment. I walk alone at night an feel perfectly safe. The campus has adequate lighting and campus police are everywhere.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: As a student I must say I have tried a lot of the local restaurants. There is so much to choose from. Delivery is also a plus.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: I have met some of the most interesting people. As a whole, my experience has been positive. There are a lot of opportunities to express ones individualism.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love UGA. It has always been my dream school. I feel safe, love the atmosphere and believe I am getting the best education and experience. I am certain I will excel in my career.

Campus Housing: The housing is great. The school has freshman only dorms and that was great because everyone there is adjusting. The campus is very spread out,but the transportation is wonderful. There is also a wide variety of dorms to choose from...if you can afford the upgrade.

Scholarships: I have HOPE,but there is a substantial amount left to pay . I have visited the Financial Aid office several times myself and with my parents and there is no advice except look for private loans. It becomes overwhelming and very stressful for myself and my family. It is a scramble each semester.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is an attraction. It seems as though it may be cheaper to get room mates and split the cost.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There are bars and parties but UGA police are everywhere. It is very well known that you will go to jail.R.A. s are very well in tune as well.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Availability of lab time is great. Have not had a problem with internet connection.

4 College Junior

Academics: It is a competitive program but I know I will be well prepared for the future.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
