Overall Experience: Going to the University of Georgia was the best decision I've ever made, hands down. I wouldn't trade it for the world. From the football games to the friends I've made, it has been the best experience of my life. Most people seem turned off from the idea of a big college campus, but it always comes with surprises and new experiences every semester. I got to experience many concerts, fairs, and meeting people like Aaron Murray, Vince Dooley, and Jason Aldean! I would recommend it to anyone and would definitely do it all over again if I had the opportunity.

Weather: The weather in my state is a little bipolar. Living in Georgia comes with weather changes every hour. One minute it can be bright and sunny, and the next it is dark and rainy. Our summers are really hot and humid, and our winters are normally not that bad. However, this winter the weather can't seem to make up its mind because it has been 75 degrees one minute and the next its below freezing. You just have to be prepared for anything living in Georgia.

Guys & Girls: UGA has had some bad reputations about our greek life and about the amount of partying associated with our school. The greek life at UGA is indeed huge, and can sometimes be a little exclusive, but I don't think it's any worse than at any other school. I am not involved with Greek life, and most of my friends aren't either, but I think that the guys and girls at my school are no more stuck up or preppy than any other student body. UGA is very diverse, and that's what I like the most about it. There are a variety of different people so you are certain to fit in no matter who you hang out with.

Academics: I really enjoy my major at UGA. It's not even offered at most schools and the focus is exactly on what I want to do when I graduate college. They really prepare us for graduate school and in giving on hands on experience. With my major, exercise and sport science, the classes offered are also what is required to apply and get into graduate school for the programs of my major such as physical therapy and physician assistants.

Academics: The academics at UGA is one of the best aspects of the school. The professors are highly rated and the classes are challenging enough to meet the student body's expectations. It takes a lot to get into UGA, so we want classes that challenge us and prepare us for our futures. The academics offered at UGA succeed in doing that. My school also offers study abroad opportunities, which are wonderful learning experiences for those lucky enough to get the chance to do them.

Nightlife: People come to Athens just for the nightlife. It's amazing.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The Health Center on campus is great, but they don't accept any outside insurance.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Pretty much anything is offered at UGA. Many people go into Education or business, though the business college, Terry College of Business, is extremely difficult to get into.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The workload is hard for all majors, but well worth it. All the faculty are nice enough. Just get on the professors good side.

Off-Campus Dining: Athens is a very diverse setting. There are restaurants from all different backgrounds, with foods that you wont find anywhere else.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Everything is pretty laid back. I don't know of anyone who has gotten in trouble for having someone in their dorm past curfew or for a noise violation.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Not many people do any drugs besides drinking alcohol.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received no aid from the school. The advisers are nice enough, but they don't explain things clearly.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: The on campus buses are completely free for students, as are the city buses. They'll take you practically anywhere, but a car is needed for emergencies.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: There is no other team that I would rather cheer for than the Georgia Bulldogs. The atmosphere on campus on gamedays is unlike any other.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The entire atmosphere is awesome. Local bands play downtown all the time, there are amazing restaurants, and the nightlife is great!

3 College Freshman

Parking: I have to park about a quarter mile from my dorm, and it is sometimes hard to find a spot that isn't in the very back of the lot. Many people also don't understand the meaning of "compact cars ONLY" and will take up 2 spots with their huge trucks, meaning there are sometimes no spots.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Classes are hard, but its well worth it. I wouldn't have chosen any other school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: My favorite thing about on campus dining is the large variety.

College Junior

Nightlife: I do not attend bars or clubs and therefore don't have any experience.

Transportation is abundant and there is a program where someone can have a designated driver as a volunteer.

5 College Junior

Majors: As an honor student coming in as a sophomore, I was basically automatically accepted into my program. And when I went to add another major, I had no problems at all.

College Junior

Athletics: I do not follow sports.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: As far as non-alcoholic incidents those are rare and very contained.

Alcohol is a very noticeable thing to do, but a lot of times it happens downtown so the campus itself is unaffected.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: We really have no safety concerns on campus. There is ample lighting at night and highly visible walkways. In the past year I think only two instances of attempted assault were reported and both times the individual was unharmed.

College Junior

Greek Life: My friend is in a fraternity and his brothers and such are great, but his fraternity runs very differently than most. The average fraternity life consists of drinking beer and going downtown, the stereotypical stuff, while the average sorority life seems to be consumed by conformity and sex.

I don't think my opinion is very kind, so i would like to exclude it from records.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
