3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I don't really know since I'll be living at home. But from what I hear it sounds like it will be better than on-campus pricing.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Not much of a sports fan but the school spirit is one of the largest I've ever seen. Almost everyone gets excited for sports, especially football.

Local Atmosphere: I've lived here most of my life so in my biased opinion, I want to get out. But my life here isn't bad, it's just that I know almost everyone and anyone. This can be considered good or bad. But I think it is still a good place to be. You have so much diversity and it isn't just you're regular old college town.

Computers: I've been in the library to use their computers rather than mine since they have better software/programs. However I'd rather print on my own since you'll have to pay $1 per page to print

Weather: Sometimes the weather can get interesting ,and I say interesting because one week it will be the hottest it has ever been to the snowstorm of the year! Sure the weather can get a little iffy but most places can be like that. I guess it is unusual for me since I'm still not used to Georgia weather. However it can get to be a lot of fun once you know that weather can get a little strange here. I say enjoy what you got and go for it!

Off-Campus Dining: Sure off-campus dining may be costly but wouldn't most places off-campus dining in a downtown area have higher prices? The food is amazing and I have only been to 5 of the many dining options! It may be a little inconvenient since it is located downtown but the diversity of food choices will blow your minds away.

Campus Housing: Sure the dorms cost a lot and are pretty small (although I'm living in the "low" cost one) but the social atmosphere is great. I only entered here for the Spring Semester but I have already made a ton of new friends. I'm actually going to miss living so close to my class next semester on. The worst thing about my dorm could be the communal bathrooms but aren't most communal bathrooms not too enjoyable? The best part is that my dorm is in proximity to everything, from buses to dining halls, it is somewhat in the center of UGA.

Academics: This is the best business school in Georgia and I know I am getting a quality education. My classes are challenging, but they teach me a lot and I know I will be well prepared for the business world.

Campus Housing: Living in the dorms as a freshman is great because of the social life, but they're really expensive and small and most of them are old. Most people live off campus after freshman year because it is a much better value.

Computers: Access to computers is great, but the wifi network here is really spotty. It will be great one minute and crappy the next. It just depends on where you are and when.

Nightlife: There is a party in Athens every night of the week. You'll never have trouble finding one here and downtown is very popular.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: I don't drink or do drugs, so it is hard for me to say, but the party scene is big here.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of cool and unique places in Athens to eat.

Weather: It is usually beautiful weather on campus, but rain is terrible because there is a lot of walking that you have to do on campus.

Transportation: The buses are great during the day, but the amount of buses dramatically decreases after 6:30 PM so you have to wait a long time for a bus, especially if you're at ECV.

Scholarships: They really only reward scholarships to incoming freshman, so older students get no help from them and even then they only give away a few scholarships to those freshman and the amount is typically small.

Athletics: There is a lot of school spirit and everybody loves to watch some Georgia football between the Hedges.

Campus Strictness: There is a policy against underage drinking, but it is not enforced really at all unless there are students causing trouble.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
