Scholarships: If You Live Here, You Are Fine. The HOPE scholarship covers your entire tuition if you live in Georgia and maintain a 3.0. Otherwise there are sever very accessible government funded loan programs. I am currently using both and they cover 99% of my costs.

Off-Campus Dining: Delicious Downtown – The downtown Athens area provides several very reasonably priced restaurants with a wide variety of foods. There are sports bars (Athens loves football), mexican and italien style restaurants as well as a half dozen local restaurants and hamburger joints. Most are trendy, all are delicious.

Computers: Very Accessible – The University of Georgia has a large amount of free to use computer work areas. Each student housing area has a study room with a set of computers with available printers (that cost money) and a campus wide internet program. All the library also incudes a computer work area and as well as an area with iMacs for creative programs.

Majors: Biology Major – I am currently majoring in Biology. It is a hard major there is no doubt about that, and it concerns me that the University of Georgia requires students to take classes that have no affect on their major whatsoever. I wish that students could just jump right in, and not have to worry about taking classes like Theatre Appreciation or Film Studies if the major does not require it. If I was given the chance to choose another major, my answer would still remain the same. It's like my mother always told me, "If it were easy, everyone would do it!"

Off-Campus Housing: There are opportunities for student housing, but due to the large number of students on the University of Georgia campus, the housing spaces are very limited. Unless a student gets an application for housing in a year in advance, then that student will be without housing.

Health & Safety: Campus Police – The Campus Police at the University of Georgia take their job very seriously. The UGA Police are always around in case of emergency, and they are even there to answer any question students may have from time to time. My favorite aspect of the Campus Police is the fact that they have late night taxi services that are willing to pick you up from anywhere on campus and give a free escort back to your dorm or house.

Facilities: Downtown Athens – The history behind the college is wonderful and present every where on campus. Downtown Athens offers an eclectic music scene, festivals, bars, and restaurants. And let us not forget the great athletics and education!

Drug Safety: Alcohol Use – Athens does have a party scene, and if you look for drugs, you can find them. If you choose not to be in those situation, there are many different nightlife options as alternatives. Due to the near presence of downtown, alcohol use is prevalent.

Off-Campus Dining: Athens Dining – Athens offers many different options, many of which are walking distance from campus. They range from places that offer pizza for a dollar or so a price to some fancy tapas restaurants.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Buses Are Great – There are plenty of UGA buses that can get you where you need to go, plus the Athens Transit System has several routes that run through and around campus.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Not Too Bad – The only thing they are too strict on is parking without a permit. Generally, you will only get in trouble for underage drinking is if your being stupid and obvious about it.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Opportunities for Fun and Work – Athens social, nightlife, and entertainment scenes are second to none. Plenty of bars, concerts, and other opportunities for fun. To go with this, it is a great school that offers students various opportunities in terms of study abroad, internships, service learning, etc.

4 College Junior

Parking: Parking is okay for the most part. There are usually plenty of parking spots since you must purchase a parking pass to a specific lot. Costs can be expensive but not too bad. The UGA buses have routes that will include apartments around the campus so it may not be necessary for a permit.

5 College Junior

Nightlife: Most, if not all, of the bars are 21 or older. However, there are plenty of house parties as well. Always concerts and such going on and is fairly close to Atlanta.

2 College Senior

Parking: There is parking everywhere but it is expensive and never ever under any circumstances. One has to go online to a website a fill out alot of information just to get on a waiting list, its mosty doen online, but heres the rub you have to go physically go in to the office which they never tell you is in a random building the same that houses the dinig hall to get your permit and pay for it. The permits are expensive. And the lines for school property and the city are very blurred so you might end up with two sets of tickets one from uga police and another for Athens police. One needs a car for of campu travel. Grocery stores or any stores are not within walking distance from anywhere on campus. Parking service sucks, with poor signage so you get stuck with tickets or fees.

Guys & Girls: Girl's Style Verse Guys – Girls dress up for every occasion possible, especially if it is to go out downtown, or a house party. During the hours of classes one can usually tell from how one is dressed what type of major one has. Stylish girls who have the luxury to wear heels of any kind are no science, math, or any other hard studious subject majors. Those in a large t-shirt with jeans or tights or workout shorts are science, math, etc. majors. Art students are always unique in their outfits or grunge. The guys pretty much wear jeans and a t-shirt every day except when they go out then its maybe dress slacks and a polo shirt/sweater combo. The distress of their fabrics tell their perspective majors, more distressed harder major etc.

Off-Campus Housing: There numerous places to stay off-campus. Either through family housing apartments with the University, or private rental agreement elsewhere. Athens isn't very big so where ever you live it no more than 20 minutes from campus anywhere. Most are very close to campus. One can pick what kind of place to stay at and where. Some prefer not to be to close to campus others a 2 minute bus ride away. It's the city for good apartments at great rents. Standard of living lower, off-campus housing is way cheaper in the long run.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: I suggest aiming at outside scholarships, saving, and federal aid.

5 College Senior

Guys & Girls: UGA is a huge school with a very diverse group of kids, and everyone is mostly accepting and open.

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Dining Options Off-Campus – There are plenty of diverse dining options off-campus, that are cheap and offer student discounts, and that deliver to campus.

2 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Not a Big Drug Scene – I am unaware of much drug usage going on on campus. Drinking does happen but I do not tend to hear much or anything at all about drugs

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Great Way to Get Involved – Being apart of Greek life is a great way to get involved around campus, meet new people, and experience new things. Since Greek life is about being a philanthropist, it allows you to be aware of clubs on campus and help you give back to the community and those in need.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Great Range – Off-Campus Housing ranges across the board. There are houses and apartments that are reasonably cheap and affordable to most students. However, some places are quite expensive and the average student is not able to afford it.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Downtown Has Something for Everyone. Downtown Athens is such a unique place because not only does it offer the exceptional bar scene, but many restaurants and shops. It is a great place to be and many students from other schools often come here to get the experience their school lacks.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Fun Greek Community – Many individuals are in a sorority or fraternity at UGA. Personally involved in Greek life, I find it to be a great way to get to know people you would not have met before. I have met many wonderful people and getting involved in the greek community was a great decision.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
