5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Definitely a variety of things to do that anyone and everyone can find something to do that they enjoy immensely. Also, because it is a college town, there's a positive local attitude towards students.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Easy process, but only expect help if you're from an extremely low income household.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Except on rainy days, the weather is usual nice.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Getting financial aid is somewhat very easy and hard at the same time depending on the students' standing and status

Campus Dining: They are not open late at all. They all close early.

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many dining places around my school which is nice, but late at night, you cannot go anywhere.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I have not seen any students use drugs at my school

2 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: There is really not much to do off campus, after school.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Almost all the guys at my school are very attractive, fun, friendly, and outgoing.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't experienced any internship so far, but I am planning to do internship later in the future.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my program I am doing!

Nightlife: The pubs and bars should stay open late for students' convenient use

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Living on campus is very convenient because we have everything on campus that we need

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The Architecture program is somewhat difficult however, the program is very entertaining

4 College Sophomore

Academics: All the professors manage the time to help out all the students with their issues

4 College Sophomore

Computers: All the computers in the labs are designed to perform well for all the students.

3 College Senior

Transportation: While you can buy a parking permit, it's generally a waste of money because it is so difficult to find any parking spots. Most students own scooters to get to and from campus. Gainesville offers buses which can take you practically anywhere in Gainesville.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Students flock to any athletic event that is going on around campus. While football is obviously the most popular, basketball and gymnastics are also important.

Weather: Gainesville is bipolar with its weather; it will be 30 degrees out (which it is now and I am not exactly enjoying it) one day, then it will be 80 degrees out the next day, but hey that's Florida. There is a good amount of cover around the campus which also helps out for rainy days.

Academics: The biology program offers a vast number of opportunities and can lead you to many different careers. The university provides research labs and facilities to help gain experience with your major. The biology major has a heavy workload and there is a lot of time spent studying.

Academics: The University of Florida provides a vast amount of academics, ranging from business, to law, to medical, you name it. The professors are typically helpful; it's beneficial to talk to your professor, get acquainted and prove to your professor that you are committed to getting your degree. The workload is pretty decent sized and any program is going to require dedication. The university offers study groups and tutors to assist you in your academic endeavors.

Scholarships: Financial aid is a pain at any school, but at UF, the advisors try to help you gain as much aid as they can. Universities are expensive and any financial aid is beneficial. The university also provides a variety of scholarships for any college, any major, and any individual so definitely apply for those.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
