Campus Housing: We have beautifully crafted old buildings and new modern ones. So win-win.

Campus Strictness: They are very strict on parking.

Scholarships: Financial aid only takes into consideration how much your parents make, regardless of whether they actually help you through college. I received no aid because my parent's "had the money." However, I am paying for my own education.

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many places to live off of campus. You can live close and in something not as nice, or a bit farther away and something really nice for about the same price.

Drug Safety: I've never had any encounters with drugs at school. If anything, drugs are done off campus.

Greek Life: They are very active, always doing events, but won't bother you too much if you aren't involved with greek life. Just stay clear of Frat Row and you'll be fine.

Diversity: It's a little melting pot up in Gainesville. A great way to become culturally diverse.

Health & Safety: I've personally never had any issues with health or security, but I guess that's a good thing right?

Computers: Other than having to re-install the Policy Key and keep Java updated, the internet connection is normally not hard to find.

Campus Strictness: Cheating is NEVER tolerated on our campus and that has to be the most strict part of our school policies.

Health & Safety: Even though there have been some crazy people in the Gainesville area, our campus police is extremely efficient and I always feel safe when I see them on campus.

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many off-campus choices to choose from so if you just give the time to research and find the best price, you can find a great deal and live comfortably. It is worth it to get a place that takes care of your utilities in your bill.

Academics: With improvements to our library, we have more room to study with friends and study in groups. The professors are horrible in the lower level science classes but they are wonderful as you get deeper in your major.

Drug Safety: I don't see the drug use on campus so I cannot properly account for it.

Campus Housing: I lived in Beaty Towers for two years and it seems that they have an easy access to campus on the south side. The rooms are a tad annoying because you have to share a room, or at least when I was there. Lakeside is wonderful! But it is so far from campus! It was nice having my own room at Lakeside.

Scholarships: Financial Aid has gotten better over the years but the financial aid website is difficult to navigate.

Transportation: Public transportation is great around town because as a student, we have unlimited access to the public bus system with our Gator1 IDs. That is what's great about living in a college town.

Nightlife: There are a wide variety of nightlife options both right across from campus (near students who live on campus) and downtown (for those who want to venture out or live off campus). The nightlife is alive and well in Gainesville.

Diversity: You can tell that the university is conscious about who they bring to their school. They want to be sure to have someone from every walk of life.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
