Campus Dining: Great Variety – UF's dining hall food has a good variety of entrees, including healthy items. Unfortunately, the quality of the food could be better. In terms of restaurants, UF has plenty, ranging from fast food (like Chick Fil A) to pizza joints (Papa John's) and restaurants (like Chili's). The number of Starbucks locations is a great plus, because these coffee shops tend to be open late providing students with a boost of energy during late night study hours.

Scholarships: Smooth and Quick – There are multiple options for receiving and applying for financial aid. You can either do it online or go to the Financial Aid Office and consult an expert for fast help.

Campus Strictness: College: Have It Your Way – There is freedom at every corner on campus. Whether you want to express your opinion about a political topic or protest a school decision, you can pretty much do whatever you want. The administrators are not too strict but watch out for the local police.

Guys & Girls: Everything You'd Expect – At the University of Florida, there is a wide variety of people. This means that no matter what you're looking for, you can probably find it. The guys display an elegant, Southern charm while the girls maintain the highest standards (unless you join the Greek world).

Health & Safety: We Emergency call boxes located in several places on campus. We have security that walks around the campus every night in addition to UF's police department roaming the campus. We also have S.N.A.P. which will pick any student up on campus and drive them to another location on campus at night.

Facilities: Each floor you go up, the noise goes down. Open LATE for finals. Can bring food and drink for those long cram sessions during finals.

Transportation: Lots of buses, they come pretty often especially on campus. Not a lot of service on weekends though, which kind of sucks.

Greek Life: Don't Care Much for Greeks – I find most of the Greek people I meet to be superficial and snobby. They seems to only be able to talk about their Greek functions. I guess if you're into that sort of thing it's cool.

Nightlife: The downtown area might look pretty ghetto, but it's fun nonetheless. Just make sure to pregame. Parties are pretty legit too. Don't go to midtown if you're under 21 though.

Campus Housing: Campus Hosing – Some of the rooms are full of mold. The dorms are small and uncomfortable, and their roommate matching service is awful

Off-Campus Dining: There are several options right across from campus and I prefer them to on campus eating. The prices on campus are insane. Even our subway doesn't follow the 5$ footlong deal, a sandwhich drink and chips comes close to 10$.

Overall Experience: Nice Climate for Studying Well – I haven't started school yet, but I know for sure that it offers a great environment for student to learn while having fun at the same time. There is always something going on campus if it's not a party it's a game, I will definitely go there for my studies.

Athletics: A Campus Involved in Sports – Football is the most frequented game by students at the University of Florida, on match day the stadium is full with students dressed in orange and blue to show their support to their team.Basketball is also a common sport at the University of Florida, but football remains the most popular sport on campus.

Guys & Girls: Girls Are Easy Going – At University of Florida you'll find people from all background and countries , the girls are really hot and friendly. The students are really helpful and some of them know the campus like the palm of their hands, no matter what you'll always find someone to help you around campus.

Weather: All Aboard! Being that I catch the bus to get on the other side of campus from my dorm to my classes, weather can bad factor. Bus stops on campus do not roofs for shelter. I sometimes go into class looking at a wet rat.

Transportation: Three modes of transportation at UF: Bus, very easy, no cost, walk, ok except when it is cold or rainey, again no cost or ride a bike, but watch out you you get hit by a car. Once you find a spot to park your car, sometimes taking up to 30 minutes to find, park the car and leave it. Thank goodness, I live on campus

Diversity: The Multicultural & Diversity Affairs (MCDA)of UF sponsors several programs. The programs try to provide a sense of belonging to each of the 50,000 current students on UF campus. as intented in their mission statement and goals objective. Four of the MCDA principles are: Community, Cultural Awareness, Leadership, and Social Justice.

Facilities: Get Opportunites – There are many inter programs that they have to be able to help with your major.

5 College Freshman

Computers: Good Service – I have had my own laptop get a virus and they were able to help me with a smile always.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Very Safe – I have late classes and always see the security and police on watch in the areas..The paths near the campus may be able to be a little more lit up solar maybe.

1 College Freshman

Parking: After school hours parking is lifted so you can park wherever, but it can be difficult to find some. On game days however, forget about it. You're better off going into the neighborhoods and paying to park in front of someones house. Campus is so covered with people that you can barely walk.

Campus Dining: Broward Dining Hall – I had the 7-day open access meal plan my first semester. It was convenient to have because I could go into the dining hall and eat however much of whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. It was however also very expensive... They way they advertise it make it sound reasonable, but realistically you dont eat there enough to offset the cost unless you actually eat 4 times a day every day.

College Freshman

Academics: I recently went through the registration process for this coming fall. The best thing to do during this process is know in advance what classes you want to take, but have a list of back up classes in case they are already filled. If you know someone whose registration date has already passed, you could ask them to sign up for classes and save a seat for you until you date comes up.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: No problems with financial aid. I have florida bright futures, which pays for my credits.

Drug Safety: Drug Scence – There is a presence of Alcohol, Marijuana, and Ecstasy. If you want to do it, its there, if you dont its not as apparent. There is not high peer pressure.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
