Athletics: Much Support for Sports – Sports at this campus are supported by fans from many places. Football season will bring fans to tail-gate hours before the game. Basketball season will draw many students with free prizes. Athletes are treated and fed well.

Off-Campus Housing: Apartments Pros/Cons – Near and far from the campus are many apartment complexes. The closer one gets the more expensive the rent is. Be wary of some complexes, the staff may be very unprofessional and may trick you into signing a lease. Always ask about the fees that may occur.

Computers: The computers at this campus are very well maintained and fast. The wireless Internet is superb and network reliability is excellent. The printing lab is conveniently located and never seems to have a shortage of printer paper.

Facilities: Football Games – Football season is amazing at UF. The whole campus comes together to cheer for the Gators and being in a stadium full of fans is a great feeling.

Greek Life: Greek life is a great way for students to get involved on and off campus and to meet many new people. There are mixed opinions about greek life stating that greeks only party, but in reality, it is like a club that helps you get more involved than you ever thought possible.

Facilities: Southwest Gym – The newly renovated Southwest gym is great. Has everything a student needs

Drug Safety: High but Not as Bad as FSU – There is a lot of drinking but its not really a big deal. As far as drug, weed is the most used but from what I hear the drug use at UF is lower than FSU

Guys & Girls: There Is Variety – There is no typical student, everyone has their own styles, interest, and social life.

Campus Housing: Life in the Dorm – Well first the dorms are extremely over priced, at $2,200 per semester. For this price you receive at 128 sq ft room that you share with another person. Also the was no sink in the room there were 2 small public bathrooms are the floor that you have to share with 50 other guys. So simply the dorm are terrible and I would suggest to anyone to live off campus.
At least the food in the dinning hall was good right? No the food was only average which would have been fine with me however they served the exact same food every day. I skipped breakfast most days but dinner was always either roast beef or, i think it was turkey. '
Now I live off campus and i cook my own food and have my own bedroom and bathroom and I'm paying significantly less than I was for the dorm.

Diversity: not something I can really comment on, because to be honest I don't really make mental notes on differences between people. I feel like if people would stop categorizing themselves from each other than we'd realize were all the same in one way or another

Facilities: Gym Is Awesome – Southwest gym takes the cake when it comes to on-campus gyms for universities, its very nice. I wish there were more pool options on campus however. Campus could also use more restaurant options but all the places to eat are very comfortable to be in for students. Harn museum is beautiful, and too many people take it for granted being on campus. there is always something to do on campus so the campus activities are always good. and for general campus looks I love it because UF looks historical and modern at the same time

Nightlife: There is something for everyone here- We used to be the Nation's #1 party school and still have a high position on the chart. There are bars everywhere (especially on University right across from campus. We call this area Midtown). Usually this area is for 21+ but they have some places that let in younger people, and you can probably get in even if you're underage if you have the hookup or know the bouncer. If that's not your thing there are plenty of clubs downtown, and most are 18+. Of course, if you're a hot girl or you have a hookup, they'll look the other way. Then there's the Greek life, notorious for their partying, and the giant parties held at the apartment complexes.Oh, and we can't forget about the dorm room pre-gaming. The biggest nights are Thursday through Saturday, but believe me, there's something going on every night. People tend to alternate between Midtown and Downtown, depending on the day of the week. During football season, the whole city goes wild after a win.

Off-Campus Housing: Gainesville Living – There are plenty of off-campus housing options suited for any person's preference. One of the popular options would be renting a small house near the campus, either by yourself or with a group of friends. Should you decide to do this, it is best that you have your own transportation. If you're a quiet and serious student I suggest this. As for apartments, the varieties are endless. There are cheap and expensive apartments. Apartments that tend to have a reputation for partying as well as some that tend to be like mini ghost towns. Some attract freshmen, while others attract upperclassmen. I chose an apartment complex known for having the best pool parties in Gainesville and regret nothing, since they also have study rooms. A very nice balance. Oh, and many complexes have their own bus routes, another plus.

Local Atmosphere: Gainesville, Home of the Gator Nation – The University of Florida is situated in Gainesville, FL. It is the typical charming historical college party town with bars, restaurants, and clubs galore. It seems like the whole city revolves around the school and because of that, it feels like home. Everywhere you look, there's blue and orange along with people full of gator pride. Businesses often have student discounts as well. In addition to fun, academics are also taken very seriously and so there are plenty of tutoring a test prep services as well. No wonder we have such a great reputation.

Weather: UF is in Florida so don't complain about the heat because its implied and it beats the hell out of cold icy sleet. The sporadic rain can be occasionally annoying but for the most part the weather is excellent.

Parking: Parking on campus is the absolute worst. Everywhere requires a decal that can only be made available to a small minority. Get a scooter and save yourself the trouble of endless citations and fees.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Most people will assume that most of greek life is consumed with partying, though it shows up through our action, it's not completely true. Greek people, ranging from all majors, still commit hard hours to studying for school also. Being greek, one has to manage their social life and can be hard. Becoming greek can help someone out with time management skills and self control on when to have fun or when to study.

Health & Safety: Safety and Security Is Pretty Decent. I haven't had too many problems so far on campus, so hopefully that continues. I just wish that the police on campus would not go out of their way just to give students tickets for driving 2 mph over the speed limit.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: We dominate all sports and win multiple national championships

Overall Experience: Go Gators – UF is the best school in the country. Best athletics, best academics, best campus.

Health & Safety: Campus always sends out alerts via email or text message about possible dangerous situations

Academics: The course load is challenging but prepares me for medical school.

Parking: I personally don't have a car at school, but a majority of my friends do. I understand that as freshman we get the crappy parking spots on campus, but its even worse than crappy. All the freshman and some sophomores don't have enough credits to earn a higher decal to park in the better locations. This leads to all freshman and sophomores fighting for the better spots. If the better spots are taken, then you park in the middle of no where and it takes over a half our to get back to your dorm. Plus, if you want to park your car at night, its even sketchier walking home alone.

Greek Life: I absolutely love the greek life on our campus. Yes, it does get very stereotypical at times, but non-greeks think that we are all very superficial. A majority of all the fraternities and sororities do get along. We mostly all participate in each other's philanthropies. Its one big happy family.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
