College Freshman

Campus Dining: I have never ate on-campus yet.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They are strict about most things, but that helps provide a safe environment for us.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are good places to eat, but not a huge variety to choose from.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The academics are the best in Florida, especially for Engineering majors.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The workload is a lot, but that is required anywhere for Engineering majors. UF has a great program to help find internships for students.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The cost is very efficient for the amount of amenities provided. The parking is not so bad and most of the off-campus apartments have a bus station nearby.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: People who come from all kinds of backgrounds attend UF, the diversity is great!

College Freshman

Scholarships: I did not qualify for Financial Aid.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: More people are involved in extracurricular activities than other colleges I have attended. The academic level is the best in Florida.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The libraries are huge, the student hangout places are great and always full of people.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Not much to do outside of campus, but the atmosphere is great. People are friendly and the bus system is great.

College Freshman

Greek Life: There are chapter houses for Greek housing. Greek life allows people to gain a bigger circle of friends and entertainment.

Off-Campus Dining: Located close to archer road which has everything you could ever need or what on it.

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Financial aid came in right away. I took out another student loan and went in my account on time.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: The variety and options of off campus housing is great especially price wise. However, the parking is hard to find since most of it is just street parking. Also it is sometimes far from midtown making it dangerous to walk home from at night.

5 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Every student is so proud to be a gator and takes pride in our schools sports.

4 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: There are plenty of diversity on campus. You can see it everywhere as everyone has somewhere they can fit in. Diversity even exists among the same social groups.

5 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: The university of Florida is one of the most prestige colleges in Florida. This university offers a plethora of opportunities, involvement and organizations.

5 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: The traditions are why I love being a gator. Football games, gator growl and a legacy the school has made will always be important to the students here.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: Always have nice variety but the quality isn't so great and the servers give you very small portions.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Everyone loves the gator athletic teams! Go gators!

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love living in the dorms. It makes it so much easier to be involved in campus life.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I dont live off campus.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: UF tries to keep their students safe as much as possible. They are very focused on it and have many services to help students stay safe like the SNAP carpools at night, the blue lights on campus and many others

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
