Weather: It is either incredibly hot or incredibly cold. Or rainy. But that's just Florida.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of places to eat for a reasonable price, I like it.

Campus Strictness: Living in student dorms definitely restricts certain aspects of students' social lives; however, most students move off campus after freshman year and then have no restrictions whatsoever.

Greek Life: I have not noticed anything about Greek living and do not usually associate myself with Greek living while studying for my major.

Transportation: Included in tuition are the costs for public transportation that goes from private apartment complexes to local hangout in downtown, midtown, and malls along with several important stops around dorms, libraries, and important campus stops.

Facilities: The open fields have benches and campus is equipped with areas for free speech entitling the students to offer opinions on heavy subjects out of home and classroom locations. Gyms are located near bus stops for transportation around famous and fully equipped with friendly staff. Traditions might get silly, but keep the "gator lovin'" strong.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
