College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Don't have any options through the school

1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There isn't really safe off campus housing outside of the fraternity houses. The neighborhoods around here are pretty bad and you would have a death wish living within 5 minutes of the school. Most people still live at home with their parents and commute. You have to drive 10 minutes north to Ferndale or Royal Oak in order to find safe housing.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Expensive and about 20 min drive. You have to pay even during the summer months.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I really don't know. I live further north and did not need to find housing.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Some of the available housing is not well kept. Although the university borders a well-to-do neighborhood, oftentimes there is are petty crimes committed on the main thoroughfare. University of Detroit is gated, so there is that added protection. However, if you need the Detroit Police Department you may be waiting for a while. DPD takes calls based on priority, and having your car broken into will not send the police racing to your house.
