3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Some rules are hard to enforce because activities are done behind lock doors.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: We have a lot of policies... but there doesn't seem to be much enforcement. There's some, but everyone knows that drinking and drug use especially goes on in many of the dorms.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Campus security goes to dorm rooms if there's a noise complaint, another complaint, or odors are coming from a room.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Not really that bad. They're not super strict, in fact they're pretty lenient. But they do try their best to raise awareness, which is one of the only things you can really do at a school with a large student body.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: DU tries to get all of their students in trouble. It would be amazing if you got out of the dorms with at least one write up for alcohol or weed. Also they are looking to give you parking tickets. They are the worst about parking tickets

The DU "police" are not to be feared. Usually, offenses don't end up tarnishing your school record or emptying your wallet. You might get a few slaps on the hand, unless the offense is something more serious, such as driving drunk or selling drugs on campus. RAs do their best to keep things quiet and relatively under control in the dorms, and as long as you don't blare your music too loud or get sloshed in your room, most likely you won't incur any serious run-ins.

Probably the biggest no-no on DU's campus is drinking in the dorms, considering DU markets itself as a dry campus. In their job description, RAs are required to inform the administration of any and all names of students caught drinking or doing drugs in the dorms, so be careful. Although you probably won't get suspended or expelled on the first account, mounting charges could equate to more serious penalties.
