3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It would have been nice to get some financial aid, but I was awarded a scholarship for merit without even applying for it.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I'm a minority and have a uncommon major and I was pretty involved in high school with a good GPA so I'm sure that helped me get my financial aid. If you're not a minority I suggest just getting active in high school and in the community because that will help them know you'll be active at UD as well.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: Coming into my freshman year here at the University of Delaware I had applied for a plethora of scholarships in addition to filling out the FAFSA to obtain any amount of money towards my tuition as possible. After receiving close to no money from the scholarships I had found and applied for, and just a minimal amount from the school, my tuition has not had the assistance of outside money that my family and I would've liked. We are constantly trying to obtain more each year, and I have worked hard this first year to earn a GPA that will be acknowledged by the school and rewarded with extra tuition money. I believe I had been eligible for more money coming into this first year, but the school does not seem to give too many scholarships to students unless under crucial circumstances.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: If you are a high need based student then you will have luck but if you are only merit based, you better apply for scholarships in highschool. I have a friend who was valedictorian in highschool and UD gave her nothing. I have several friends with a similar story.

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: I received federal aid which I am now paying off. I mainly say "it's okay" because I wish I could afford to pay off more of my debt each month.
