5 College Sophomore

Majors: I enjoy the fact that my major is available as a distance learning option. It gives me the ability to finish classes at home while I work on my internship and study for my board certification.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had an internship at UC.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: There are several scholarships but many are not available to graduate students or are so specific in their requirements that I can not apply. It is difficult to find any scholarships that are open at this time of year too.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: A bigger city feel mixed with the college town atmosphere!

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: A great mix of options as far as menu and cost goes. There are always your typical options but also some different fun options! Always seems to be something new and different to try.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I love the distance learning options available at UC. It makes taking classes much more convenient and easier to take over the summer. The curriculum is typical of a masters program, highly competitive, but definitely doable.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: I typically walk around campus so transportation is not a big deal for me. It is always there if you need it (like in the winter) but typically walking and biking are just fine.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The snowy conditions can make it tough to get to class but are usually not too bad. Its a plus having all four season, and the fall, and spring are both beautiful!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Price, and proximity to campus are superb. Safety and landlords are average, everyone is friendly and welcoming.

3 College Junior

Academics: Online professors vary and have different expectations for students. Since this is the first time this program is online, it may just be working out the kinks.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: I've witnessed tons of sororities and fraternaties out in the community doing community services.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: So much to do in Cincinnati--and it's still growing!

5 College Junior

Majors: Lots of choices! Nursing is a flexible field and UC is dedicated to developing nurses as leaders.

5 College Junior

Majors: Admission was relatively easy--no issues at all.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Had to use student loans, but the process was smooth.

5 College Junior

Diversity: Very inclusive for everyone. LGBT friendly.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Awesome teams and great fun at games.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Great food options for everyone!

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel really safe walking on campus.

3 College Junior

Weather: The weather varies a lot--it's Ohio

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: I've heard great things about housing

3 College Junior

Transportation: Parking can be a hassle sometimes, but it's easy to walk wherever you're going.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Uncertain about drug activity since I attend online courses. However, I visit campus frequently because I use the recreation center.

5 College Junior

Nightlife: So much to do downtown and in close proximity to the college

4 College Junior

Academics: Registration is easy--advisors help a lot with selecting classes. Online content is often jumbled, but I think the professors aren't given enough information/education on how to used the Blackboard system.

The University of Cincinnati is ideal for anyone looking to graduate with a solid education and experiences of a lifetime. At UC, there is something for everyone, no matter what background you come from and no matter what your goals are. The faculty and staff are helpful and passionate about helping students learn, so whatever program you choose, you'll get a good education. Plus, the University is always expanding the curriculum, so students have more and more options of what they can study.

The campus itself is as diverse as the curriculum, so students will be learning something new even if they aren't in the classroom. UC brings in a variety of speakers, events, and exhibits that promote different ways of thinking and cultures. The majority is not the only group that gets its voice heard. You may not get that experience at another college, so take advantage of the openness that UC provides. Cincinnati is also becoming a more diverse city, so students who are open to going off campus can experience even more. Although safety can be somewhat of a concern and parking totally sucks, UC isn't as bad as people make it seem. Keep in mind that any college has its pros and cons, and no matter where you are, you're only as safe as you make yourself. Don't skip out on UC because of a few factors because there is so much that outweighs the bad.
