Local Atmosphere: Orlando is great. It's a lot better than the city I came from I could definitely stay here.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Same as on campus stuff, you will find off campus, plenty of popular chains available.

5 College Junior

Weather: Florida Weather is great. It is sunny and rainy randomly.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I lived two years on campus housing. I lived Freshman year, in double occupancy room with a bathroom that we shared with another double occupancy room. Sophomore year, I moved off campus and lived with friends. Junior Year, I moved back on campus into an apartment style dorm with my own room with random people. And next year I plan on living on campus again. I chose to stay on campus as much as I did because of the amount I spend on campus. The year I left on campus I would get to campus early, and stay their very late every day, and even went on campus on the weekends. It was my best option, it's always a case by case basis. But the quality of the housing is good, and of the housing staff. I mainly just care that it's my place to sleep.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Intramurals are great, and well organized. Most of participants is with clubs and groups and Greek organizations and is used as a good way to get together and have a good time. There are different league based on level of competitiveness so people who like to compete are given competition and those out there for fun can do just that. Varsity Athletics is doing a good job at marketing to the student body and increasing national name recognition of the UCF brand.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: I went out a lot, and then I stopped, because it's not something I like too, also I was underage most of my undergrad and didn't become of age until I was a senior, I save my money and only go out on special occasions it makes it more fun then going out every weekend, you have your whole life to go out, but you'll only be in college for a little bit.

5 College Junior

Majors: As a college student, you have to be open to taking an internship that may not even be exactly what you want to do after college, but taking an opportunity gets you experience, networking, and knowledge of a job that you may not want later in life. Don't turn down a position just because it's unpaid that is something you can earn a lot of valuable experience also if it's a reputable company nobody is going to care down the road how much you earned. Availability is high, and there are a lot of opportunities that students pass up because they often feel some positions are beneath them. It's important to not believe in advancing quickly when you first start, get the experience now, try not to think to far ahead all the time.

Off-Campus Housing: I rated it as okay, because prices are obviously higher the closer you are to campus. It's definitely cheaper than on campus. But 5 minutes down the road isn't necessarily an inconvenience either, and the campus shuttles make having a further apartment totally okay. Anything that isn't specifically student housing is something you might want to watch out for, you don't have the convenience of separate leases and being surrounded by students. Management at these places can sometimes be unprofessional or ill managed being that most managers are younger people. But if you don't really care about that kind of thing, off campus housing is great because of the freedom you have, and the responsibility you feel. Most places are furnished and people often find houses they can go rent that are even cheaper than student housing. It's all about preference.

4 College Junior

Academics: Even though I've changed my major 5 times, every change I would have been fine graduating with because the opportunity for experience and internships in college was outstanding, and I also see it across the board in different departments and majors.

4 College Junior

Academics: Popular study areas are everywhere, I feel we as a student body respect each other especially when someone is in need to study. There are plenty of academic resources available, free tutoring, a lot of my business classes where recorded lectures so it gave me the option of going to class or watching the lecture at my convenience or doing both if needed. I have never had a problem getting into a class I needed the registration process is simple and efficient.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: I'm a non greek, and I appreciate Greek Life on campus, they do a lot and when they got banned one semester that I was here a lot of things lacked presence because greeks would get together and be a big presence. Such as intramural sports or the annual dance fundraiser. Most of campus is non greek and being greek or non greek isn't going to change anybodies attitude toward you. It's not like some smaller schools that it's all they have.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: It's okay, if you want fresh healthy food options, I really only think that the salad bar and the kosher food place are the best options, the rest of it is mainly fast food, but the availability is great and the price is the same what it would be off campus. But the options on campus are great, they opened a Dunkin Donuts this semester, there is a sbarro, huey magoos, chik fil a, tropical smoothie, two starbucks, einstein bagel bros, 3 subway's, and some others that I can't think of right now.

5 College Junior

Computers: The WiFi is great. The computer labs all have the newest computers with all the latest software to use and complete your assignments. Availability is great, even during midterms and finals weeks. The library and computer labs are open later on finals week. I currently left my laptop at my parents house, all I really use it for is surfing the web, blogging, and Netflix. All my school work I do on campus computers, it is also really convenient how their is a virtual drive attached to your student login so you can save documents and pictures and be able to access them wherever you sign in on campus. There are two 24/7 study lounges on the opposite ends of campus, and the student union is open 24/5 during the year and and 24/7 during finals week.

Overall Experience: The argument often comes up that "Who's UCF?" but after being here for 3 years I've seen it's national recognition grow, and seen how important it's students are to it. UCF is about the experiences you have, the people you meet, and the transformation into a functional person post-grad. I believe this is probably the case in a lot of schools, but our school does have uniqueness and traditions that make people who visit it want to come here once they step on the campus. Not only is our campus beautiful but the people are inviting and I haven't met anyone who went here or left not miss it. It's a lifestyle you can get used to and not want to let go.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: We really have such a beautiful mix of people, races, dress, many people in relationships, many people who aren't. People are really friendly. I'm on my third year and I can't walk around one campus one day without seeing extremely attractive guys. I find most of them in the library and the gym.

Scholarships: There are plenty of scholarships and aid available. And when it comes to scholarships if you take the time to apply to many you'll get a percentage of them and then you'll be happy because your hard work will be rewarded. A lot of scholarships have specific requirements so get everything in order before thinking of applying. I was just too lazy to apply for scholarships but they are there and there is a lot of money that doesn't get used because people are not applying.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: There are so many students, you can't stop everyone but they do a good job. Basically if your being a disruption it will be broken up. If you are doing something illegal, but not being a disruption what will be their motivation to come find you. They are strict when they come break things up and there are drugs, or alcohol. Just be careful or take it off campus and you won't have to deal with it. They are very strict on cheating, and parking you will get a ticket if you don't have a decal. There is a "free speech" lawn in front of the library and on Wednesday's sometimes people can be out there. Visitation in dorms isn't an issue at all. They don't care unless someone files a complaint against you which doesn't happen either.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: A lot of students come into college already taking the study drugs, but you don't really find is as a pressing issue. Alcohol is allowed in the dorms as long as your of age. If you are not of age, there are student conduct issues related to that, they are strict however if they find red solo cups and ping pong balls it's considered alcohol paraphernalia. On game days memory mall is filled with tents and alcohol as long as your not acting a fool cops normally don't bother. They do card many people because of the amount of underage drinking going on. I never underage drank on campus but I would hold a cup filled with something else and even if it was filled with alcohol, I behaved so I never got question.

4 College Junior

Transportation: The shuttle system is great as long as you don't depend on it to be somewhere but if you need to get somewhere it will take you. There are the apartment shuttles that go from complex to campus, there are on campus shuttles that transport you around campus only. There are also some shuttle routes on the weekends that take you downtown, or to the local shopping area, also to some of the off campus complexes, that runs until 3am which can be convenient for groups going out or need to get to a complex late at night on the weekend.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: There are safety escort services available at all times, many emergency poles, I've never encountered anything crazy and the things that you hear about happen rarely and statistically speaking with the amount of students on this campus there will be a few crazy people.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are a lot of groups on campus so sometimes people do split up, but there are also other groups that form that are based on nothing specific to politics, religion or sexual orientation and those groups are always accepting of everyone. There are a lot of specific work/major related groups that tend to be exclusive, but that is a reality can't have an engineer major in the theater club, it just doesn't make sense.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is very good here with many options, locations, prices, quality as well as school transportation

Scholarships: overall financial aid gave me enough money to pay for school and all other costs as well as money left over. Contacting them and making changes in general is usually slow but it will get done.

Majors: UCF has a large variety of major options with so many programs that are all very good. For me, I needed good grades to get into my major as well as above average gpa

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
