3 College Freshman

Weather: It rains sometimes, but besides that it's okay.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus.

3 College Freshman

Computers: I bring my laptop to school every time I go, but the math labs are great.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I do not live on campus but from what I hear, there is a lot going on.

3 College Junior

Weather: The weather flucuates regularly and campus is very large so when it rains you will most definitely get wet.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I never lived on campus but I know it's very expensive.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: The process can be tedious and students who run the office aren't always the most knowledgeable. I was not made aware of specific scholarship opportunities until my junior year.

3 College Junior

Majors: My tip for admission would be to start as early as possible, have extracurricular activites, and write a well-written essay.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really enjoy being a psychology major with a minor in crime, law and deviance. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The campus itself is always eventful however, the surrounding areas can be a little dangerous.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Police try to crack down on offenders breaking into cars, however, lately it has seemed to increase and is always a thought of concern for myself as a student.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Certain aspects in which the school obtains money from misconduct, such as parking permit violations resulting in tickets for student, seem to be higher on the school policy priorities than do other aspects such as drug/alcohol use.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus food has many selections. There are fast food chains, as well as restaurants unique to the area. The cost varies, but not enough of the restaurants offer student discounts. The off-campus food is very accessible, because the restaurants are directly off-campus. No one should have to travel a far distance for food. My favorite places have been Firehouse Subs and Lazy Moon.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is really popular at our school. It provides a smaller community to students who might be overwhelmed by the size of the school. Greek students are viewed very differently among non-Greeks. Some non-Greeks do not mind them at all, while others are very against Greek life. The opinion depends on who you ask. Greek housing for sororities is all on-campus. Almost every sorority has a house. The fraternities have fewer houses, and some exist off-campus, but are still available and good places to live in.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: When the weather is bad it affects students getting to class. We have shuttle services, but students still have to walk a decent distance to the shuttle and to their classes after they are dropped off.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Computer labs are pretty accessible, but sometimes fairly crowded. The printing quota is generous. It is still useful to have a printer, though. The network goes out quite often, but when it is working it has a decent signal and speed. I would suggest for students to get a computer.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
