Majors: Could be a little more helpful with guidance the first few years. Would definitely be more organized with classes if I could do it over again. Hospitality program is awesome, professors are from the real world so they have lots of knowledge. No concerns about finding job in the field, great education!

Academics: Pretty Smooth Sailing – UCF has been a relatively easy school to attend. All the classes that I have taken so far are great, and there is always an interesting class out there. Registration is simply... although sometimes you have to act fast before a seat is taken.

Local Atmosphere: Dull but Fragrent – The city has a lot to offer but all your classmates will ever be interested in is the garage sale grungy styled night life

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: The city has a lot of fun atractions, but anything worth doing is about 30 minutes away from campus. Shopping, attractions, and the really nice restaurants are all by downtown, or downtown disney. Night life is decent, but everything closes at 2:00am.

Academics: A lot to choose from, knowledgeable professors, helpful counselors

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Always Something to Do! Orlando has everything. You will never be bored living in or near Orlando. Tons of theme parks and other attractions.

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Not Just a Tourist Destination – Many things to do, Disney World, Universal. Good nightlife in Downtown Orlando. You have also plenty of things over in International Drive with Wonderworks, Dave & Buster's, and many restaurants.

3 College Junior

Academics: Aerospace Engineering – The workload is reasonable for the program. Internships are competitive, but there is also an option to get into research with some professors.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Universal Studios, Disney World, Wet 'N Wild, Seaworld, Aquatica, and much more are located within and hours drive from campus. SGA even offers discounted tickets to many of the attractions.

College Junior

Majors: An internship is required for my degree, I have not completed this requirement yet.

4 College Junior

Academics: All of my classes that I have signed up for this semester have been made available for me online. Since I live an hour away from UCF, this takes a huge load off of my stress level. Workload is a bit heavy because it is online, but you can do it any time you want to. It has been very convenient for me.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: UCF, has an abundance of surronding activities from theme parks, to old-time attractions, and from tourist-attracing malls to the night hot spots. UCF has nearby shopping outlets with a large variety including New York Pizza, a delicious Puerto Rican restaurant called, "El Coqui" and, and amazing Sushi Bar. Many UCF students are interested in sports as well, there are many KNIGHTS fans all around town, excited for football season. Everyone in Orlando is cool, smart, creative, and friendly. Whenever I go to UCF I always make sure to stop somewhere new and fun and I am never let down.

3 College Junior

Majors: Its very hard to get into Nursing. Thousands of people apply a year and only 120 are accepted at the Orlando campus. The application process is easy, one application and that is it. The acceptance is rough. Transfer students usually aren't considered, GPA has to be above a 3.2, all requirements are needed, no arrest within 5 years. Once accepted, you have a whole summers worth of things to do including background checks, forms, drug test, shots, orientations, etc.

4 College Junior

Academics: The Nursing program is amazing. Only 120 people get selected a year. The program is hard to get in to. But it is well worth it. You do your clinicals at many different hospitals and very well known ones. The technology is very expensive and updated. I love the nursing program here.

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a big city. Downtown is small though. Thats pretty much where you find the nightlife. It is a little run down and gets boring after a while. Clubs are only open until 2:30 and stop selling alcohol by 2. Disney is about 30-45 minutes away, so attractions are big. You also have Universal and I Drive with a lot of good restaurants and rides. Around UCF, within about a 10-20 minute drive, there is nothing. Just your every day grocery stores and pharmacies. The closest mall is 20 minutes away and it is pretty small.

3 College Junior

Majors: Class Space Is Limited. With UCF being the second largest university in the nation, it is some times hard to get into the classes you need. Some times you have to wait a semester or two in order to get in a class that is required by your major. This can hold you back from graduating on time.

4 College Junior

Academics: Many Opportunities for Free Tutoring – The University of Central Florida offer many free tutoring options. There is supplementary instruction where a tutor sit in lecture then has study session outside of the lecture to help reinforce the information. There is also SARC where there are tutor available to help with any class that has or doesn't have a SI leader.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Many Tourist Attractions – Orlando has tons of theme parks and recreational parks. Three main parks are Disney, Universal Orlando, and Sea World. The night life is great too. Universal City walk has the best clubs.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: Getting Better – Just added a massive garage. Usually spots fill up quickly but I have never once had a problem parking and I drive to class daily.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The Best – UCF has some of the best off-campus housing in the country. I have seen other schools and UCF is second to none, they have tremendous variety, none of which are very expensive and all are full of every amenity one would ever need.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Have quite a few services intended towards keeping students safe, such as safe ride services and have emergency call buttons always within 2 minutes or less from anywhere a student could be. I have never heard of an incident jeopardizing student safety or compromising the safety of anyone on campus.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: Florida has very unpredictable weather. One minute it will be sunny; the next it will be pouring. It's hard to deal with such weather, but UCF could deal with it at little better. Irrigation on the sidewalks it pretty poor. They are pretty much flooded everytime it rains, so rain boots are a must. They could fix that with more drain pipes. Also there are not very many sheltered areas to stay under to wait out it out when it is raining. If UCF would create some covers in front of buildings, students may not get nearly as wet.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus Safety – Campus safety at University of Central Florida is excellent. Each time I walk around campus late at night, I feel entirely safe. There are security guards that are friendly and willing to help, and there are emergency beacons all over campus.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The University of Central Florida is a great school for biology because it has many connections for students to have a step ahead of other college students. The professors are amazing and care about the students. There is constant research at the university, so students are able to get their hands dirty before entering the real world. The only downside to the school is the lack of class diversity in the major. Biology classes at UCF are focused more towards healthcare, such as premedical. The school should offer more classes in different fields of biology in order to include a broader spectrum of students.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I like the University of Central Florida and it has created a lot of new and exciting opportunities.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
