Diversity: Mostly "Rich" Kids – Although most of the students at UCF don't have any money of their own, it seems the vast majority of them come from upper-class families. Diversity in economic background is limited. As such, the campus is filled with brand new sports cars, iPhones, trendy clothes, and other things that students wouldn't normally have the means to purchase. It's common to hear about students getting a "free ride" through college, either from parents or scholarships (the latter of which is more respectable).

Facilities: The Library Is Great – UCF's library is a great place to research and study. They have 4 floors, with each floor being quieter than the one below it. There is a coffee shop and lounge area filled with computers, for those with a more "relaxed" studying style. The building itself is located in the center of campus-- making it easy to get to from any direction-- and overlooks the campus' spectacular water fountain. You could easily spend the whole day at the campus library.

Overall Experience: Its Amazing – I love being here, the atmosphere is amazing. there is so much to do, and the up keep of the campus is a guarentee. If i could do it all over again i wouldnt do anything differently.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greeks Scene – They are there and a good part of some of the things that go on around campus, but they arent favored.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Personal Safety – The campus police are very good at what they do. there is its own police station, and emergency buttons everywhere around campus. they even offer to drive you around campus after dark so that you dont have to travel alone.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Housing from Hell – Housing on or near campus is a complete waste of money; they charge an arm and a leg just for one room. Universities across the border need to realize that if they are charging us so much money for housing they are also hindering people from getting an education. We are the future of tomorrow and if there are not enough of us, then the world will be in havoc.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Teachers Are the Best – UCF, is currently the nation's second largest school student body wise. I must say that they need to expand more and hire more teachers, class sizes are ridiculous, and not to mention trying to find spots when registration opens. I have admired all my professors thus far, they are well educated and try their best to help you out in any form possible.

2 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Vegans Everywhere! Almost everyone I've met has been vegetarian or vegan, and I've yet to find anyone who I'm interested enough in to look past the conflicting diets. (I eat balanced.)

3 College Freshman

Facilities: The building of the university are big but having a building for all the different engineers given here is too small. The university should invest some money to build at least another engineer building for the student be able to take all their engineer classes in those building not to be going from building to building taking seniors classes

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: It was very simple for me and I got everything I needed out of it.

4 College Freshman

Weather: In the Open – Being the sunshine state, Florida usually lives up to its name, but when it rains, it pours. Since the campus is open you will get soaked every once in a while.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: It's Under Control – There are places on campus that offer alcohol but it is very monitored and safe for others.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I Like It – Orlando is a wonderful city with so many things to do. Lots of little places to really get an artist inspired. So much new food, as well as many of the big chains, it's hard to go hungry in a place like this. The obvious cool thing about UCF's location is you're really close to the theme parks! Universal and Disney are so close! UCF offers a lot of student discounts to the attractions, shows, and bus tickets for around town too.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Plan Ahead – The print labs on campus, although convenient are very crowded and if your in a hurry they are not the place to be.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: In your dorm, you can basically do what you want. RA's are students too and as long as you're not doing anything terrible, they don't take much notice. However on-campus police are either EVIL and on a power-trip, or super sketchy.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Many Options – There are many of off-campus housing options. A few of them have shuttles to and from campus. Although it isn't exactly the college experience, off-campus housing is more reasonably priced, there are less rules, and some apartments are actually a lot nicer. Alafaya Club, The Edge, and The Lofts are all very nice complexes.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: Commuter School – It doesn't really feel like a college. It's weird. I think it's because it is a commuter school. I live on campus and a lot of people do go home on the weekends, however myself and most of my friends do not. There is some school spirit, but not much. Except on game day.

1 College Freshman

Parking: Parking is one of the worst things about UCF. 50,000 students, why is there no parking!? It can take 45 minutes trying to find a parking space.

2 College Freshman

Academics: Depends on the Class; Overall Good – The professors really do want to help you, and most of them will try to if you take the time to come to them. Being a large school, obviously the majority of gen ed classes have 200+ students in them, the largest had 450. In a lot of classes, you do have to teach yourself. Overall, if you put hard work in you get results. UCF is not known for its academics but maybe it will be in the future.

Off-Campus Dining: The Food on College Row – University Blvd. is the main street that leads up to UCF and it is crawling with almost every fast food establishment you can think of. From Burger King and Friendly's to Chipotle and Panera. There are some of the chain restaurants, such as Chili's and Applebee's, but if you're looking for something out of the ordinary and eclectic, you probably won't find it here.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It's Very Diverse – The University of Central Florida has many different options for majors and also has a very wide range of people on campus, whether it be by their religion, race, clothing stlye or clubs, it is generally a very diverse school where everyone is welcomed and for the most part get along well.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Very Safe – I have never felt unsafe while being on campus, even when I had classes that got out after dark.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Our financial aid department needs more help. There are 54,000 students that go to main campus and the financial aid office is in a very small space. Also, I believe there should be more access to funds. You should definitely make an appointment to see someone in person.

3 College Senior

Nightlife: Ehhh..It's Alright – The bar scene around UCF is repetitive. Especially if you are of age. The great thing is we are very close to downtown Orlando and the school provides us with taxi vouchers (about one every semester) that will pick us up and take us home.

4 College Senior

Campus Dining: Really Great – We have access to two dining halls on campus. Both have a wide variety of food and entertain on certain nights by having "themed" nights.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
