5 College Freshman

Academics: It's definitely an invigorating environment! Teachers are always willing to help, and you learn alot.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The Best Atmosphere. In orlando there's alot of diversity, great nightlife, good student population, and you can always find something to do that you love.

2 College Junior

Weather: Humidity sucks. It makes it so much hotter and it's for the majority of the year. Besides that the weather's good. It's usually sunny during the day, rains mid afternoon, and then clear again at night to go out!

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Plenty of attractive guys at this school. Seriously. I think that stands out alot just walking around campus. And they are all generally really nice and very sociable.

3 College Junior

Majors: Wish I Started Earlier – When I first started college I was jumping from major to major. If I had known and really understood what I was getting myself into I would chosen a different major and really focused.

3 College Junior

Academics: Ofcourse the workload is hard. When it comes to a major that is a precurser to medical schools it has to be hard and challenging to see if you can make it. UCF does offer many opportunities for help if you're not doing to well as well as opportunities for internships and shadowing.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando, DUH! What can you not do in Orlando. It has plenty of theme parks, a basketball team, and tons of other things to do.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Everyone at UCF and the surrounding areas is very laid-back and open to all different kinds of cultures and races. There is no kind of discrimination and everyone interacts with one another. Nearly all of the population is upbeat and friendly which keeps crime and violence to a minimum. And there's never a dull moment in Orlando, Florida. Even on week nights, there's always something to do or somewhere to go.

5 College Senior

Majors: Biology TA – I worked as a teaching assistant for a Biology II Laboratory class and found it very rewarding. I did not get paid but received class credit for my work. I was not only able to interact with students and teach them what I already knew from previously taking the class, but was also able to learn many other things about biology and teaching itself that I did not previously know.

4 College Senior

Academics: Biology Major Has Its Perks – I am currently a biology major and it definitely has its perks. The course load is rigorous but the rewards are phenomenal. Taking a very tough upper level class and succeeding is unlike any feeling. The professors are always there to help students and truly want them to succeed. In addition, there are many opportunities to obtain positions are undergraduate research assistants and other internship/job opportunities, all available at the biology office.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando Atmosphere – The UCF atmosphere is great. There is so much to do on campus and off that it never gets boring. In addition, having Disney and Universal basically in our backyards is nothing to cry about either. It happens to give many students job opportunities as well as activities to do on the weekdays or weekends.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are many varieties of classes to take at UCF, but the registration process is very poor. It seems like there are only so many seats available in each class and way to many students to accomodate which can be frusterating for some. The professors are nice and they know their subject matter. The work load is about average not too much to handle, and there are plenty of people and groups to reach out to if you need help as a student in your academics.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Very Encouraging – The staff is very encouraging to the students. They offer the help if you are willing to ask for it. There are many resources as well

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a very nice city, and has a lot to offer with attractions such as disney world, seaworld, and wet n wild. Safety all depends on where exactly you are, there are very nice places in orlando as well as not so nice. As far as UCF goes, I think it is way to big, but it has a lot to offer students as far as sports and clubs as well as a good education. The attitudes of the students from my experience has been good thus far.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Lots for Students and Young People to Do – There is a lot to do around the UCF area. It is close to the beach and Daytona as well as the Disney parks.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Not That Challenging – Honestly the biggest challenge is completing the classes and memorizing a lot of information since most of it you will need for jobs or graduate schools. As long you do your general education and some sciences courses you be on your way

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Good Major – Well im a health major so i have definitely found many others with my same interest. They have clubs in which you can join and find information on my major. Guidence counselor willing to help me on which classes i need to take toward my major. Major itself i love it because it fits me

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Oh Yes – Orlando is a tourist destination one of the most popular so just on that you have so many attractions like water parks and theme parks. City is diverse more than one culture and many diverse spots like restaurants and shopping center

4 College Freshman

Majors: I'm in OSI Productions and it has been an excellent experience. It is a great way to stay connected with my community and better my resume for my career in film production. It allows me to take another step to getting that edge in the workforce.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Always There for the Student – At University of Central Florida, the professors are very flexible. They will try their best to make sure that you, the student, is taken care of. The campus is a little spread out but it allows you to meet up with friends almost anywhere.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Waterford Lakes – It is a good little place about five minutes away called Waterford Lakes. It is an awesome place to hangout with friends on a friday or saturday night. There is a lot to do and personally I like to people watch. There is plenty of that to do. Plus you can do a lot of browsing and shopping for really cool clothes, food, and necessities for the dorm. What will get you in the end is the price of everything. It may be fun to hangout, but it can be expensive if you don't discipline yourself.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The Hidden Beauty – The University of Central Florida is located in the huge city of Orlando, allowing students plenty of exiting activities and attractions all within a 30 minute drive. There are plenty of clubs, restaurants, fun places like indoor laser tag and mini golf, and don't forget easy access to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. With all of these crazy easily accessed attractions most students fail to realize the hidden beauty of the Little Econlockhatchee that lies right in UCF's backyard. My friends and I just happen to stumble upon and since that day whenever we are bored the Little Econ is where you will find us. It offers hiking, fishing, canoeing, awesome rope swings, exploring, and a great sense of adventure. Our adventurous Black Labrador Retriever, Gerkin, absolutely loves leading the way down the trails, and swimming up and down the river. We have explored so much of this river we have actually created of series of bridges from trees we have chopped down ourselves, as well as creating shelters in areas were we stay the night. So while every other college student is struggling to find parking at a club or a restaurant, we are simply enjoying life with each step we take deeper into Mother Nature's sanctuary.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Nike and Hercules Are the Best – The dorms at UCF are very nice. They are very modern and the Hercules and Nike Dorms are the best! They are located right next to the pool and the recreation center so it's convenient when wanting to tan and work out. They are also located walking distance from the Student Union which is the centralized building on campus.

3 College Junior

Academics: Communication Sciences and Disorders – I'm in the College of Health and Public Affairs at the University of Central Florida and loving it so far. The professors and advisors are very helpful and I know I can go to them whenever I need something or someone to talk to.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The environment surrounding UCF is one of a kind. The poeple are very nice and the fact that there are a variety of shops and restaurants 10 minutes from the University is very helpful. Not having to travel far distances to buy groceries or to go out is very convenient.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
