Local Atmosphere: I love that Ucf has such a diverse body of students attending. For people who love t be around different cultures this is the school for them. I can,t think of any better way to learn and experience different cultures. of all the schools I have been to this has been the most diversed!

Academics: The admissions process is excellemt. As a prospective future student, they are more then willing to assist you with the enrollment process. The counslors that they have on board on profiecient and very understanding and are available at all times to assist you with the process. They even go the extra mile to help transfer students, like myself.

Facilities: Always Something Going on – There is always something happening here. So many organizations provide an awesome view of the school and whats going on around it. There's never a dull day.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Guys Are Gorgeous – The guys are the typical Floridan. Gorgeous sun kissed skin with blonde hair bleached from the sun. Girls are tan and pretty, most with hair that's straight and long. A lot of the school has an interest in being active with the community.

Off-Campus Dining: FOOD FOOD FOOD – All you see around the UCF campus are different types of restaurants for different personal tastes. While most of these are fast food places, there are quite a few inexpensive options that can be much healthier as well.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Healthy Knights – UCF has one of the largest gyms I have ever seen. As a college freshman, "freshman 15" was a fear of mine. Living on campus 2 minutes away from the gym made it easy for me to be inspired to workout especially with such a beautiful gym. UCF also has a police station and transportation services that will give a ride to any student who feels walking alone is too dangerous.

Drug Safety: I Wouldn't Know – While I am aware drinking was popular and I'm sure i overheard a few drunks and their parties. But i was never exposed to any kind of peer pressure. People respected my decision to abstain.
As for drugs aside from smelling marijuana smoke sometimes when i lived in the dorm or around campus it doesn't seem too common.
Although I have no clue how well UCF enforces their policies. I never saw any kind of enforcement so there isnt much to say about that.

Campus Housing: Freshman Dorms Are Interesting – We got very cozy on my floor when i lived in Freshman on campus housing. Our R.A. was approachable and nice and there were weekly events that were generally fun. We also had a cleaning lady who came in and cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed. The downsides were that the place was old and the white brick walls were a bit reminiscent of an asylum. Not to mention paperthin walls and floors meant i had to keep the volume down and got to hear every party or argument that went on whether it was next door, upstairs, downstairs, or outside my window. Also the carpets were dirty and turned your feet black if you walked on them barefoot.

Academics: B.A. in Cinema Sudies – Most of the classes are really interesting. There's a heavy focus on the history of film and independent film making and a lot of the teachers tend to favor the B.F.A. students but its still really interesting. None of the classes overload you with work and the assignments are usually interesting and fun. For one class I helped promote a film at the Florida film festival which was a fascinating experience

Transportation: The transportation at ucf is horrible. Its so much easier living in student housing and riding the shuttle. The parking is very bad its always hard to find spaces, they continue to build garages but that doesn't help. They UCF shuttles are very convenient and you don't waste any gas.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life at ucf is always around. You can usually catch a yard show on wednesdays. They are very appealing, and they have parties which is cool and something to do on the weekends. As a non greek i see it as an opportunity to join and a group and become apart of something. They have all kinds for all different purposes.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: UCF is a very diverse campus, there are so many types of people and so much to do. You have all kinds of clubs and organizations that you can join. You will see people of all races and nationalities. Students are overall very easy going i have been here 2 years and haven't ran into any trouble. I am a Proud Knights. I love UCF!

Transportation: Buses Are There for Convenience – UCF has many off-campus apartment complexes surrounding it, at least 10 different communities, and because parking can be a nightmare on campus due to the sheer number of people that attend the school, there are always buses going to and from the apartments. This is a huge convenience to anyone who lives in an apartment off campus and doesn't want to drive to school and deal with finding a parking space, so it's definitely a plus. Also UCF has recently partnered with Orlando's public transportation company, Lynx, to create a bus line called KnightLynx. These buses run on the weekends, are free for UCF students, and have stops at all of the local bars and clubs, this is definitely convenient, because then someone going to or coming from a bar or club doesn't have to worry about finding a ride or a designated driver, so it's a major plus.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greeks Are Alright – The Greek Life at UCF is good, the school has numerous fraternities and sororities for one to choose from, but the Greek scene is dominated by a few large organizations, about 3 or 4 fraternities, and 4 sororities. In terms of how Greeks are looked at by non-Greeks, most people on campus don't care either way, they'll interact with each other, and others don't like the Greeks at all, which is expected at any school. The Greeks don't really dominate the school, they may think they do, but they're biggest problem is that they're all the same. The Greeks at UCF aren't very diverse, they're basically all the stereotypical frat guys with short khaki shorts, flip flops or sperries, a polo shirt, and sun glasses with something on the back of them that keeps them around their necks. It seems like once someone joins certain fraternities, they almost immediately act and dress like the rest of the frat. This isn't the case with all of the fraternities, but I have noticed it with some of them. Overall, Greek life at UCF is a great way to meet a lot of people very fast, and is generally great fun.

Facilities: The Campus Is Phenomenal – UCF has the most beautiful college campus I've ever had the privilege of stepping foot on. There are palm trees and other aesthetically pleasing landscape features all over the campus. Also, the campus was modeled after the theme park Epcot at Walt Disney World, using Disney's idea of many circles within one big circle. So the one big circle is the road that goes around the entire campus, then there are a few other large circular paths around the college, with other paths connecting them throughout the campus, this makes UCF a "pedestrian friendly college," meaning you can safely and easily walk anywhere on the campus. UCF is also one of the largest campuses in the nation, and because it was only created in 1963, most of the buildings are very young and up to date with today's technology. In my mind, UCF has the best campus out of any college in the whole nation, it's a pleasure to attend school there.

Campus Dining: Food is all around, but we have to be careful of what we eat. It may come back to you later in the bathroom.

Local Atmosphere: The Open – Orlando is very diverse. With all the theme park attractions and sports teams located nearby, it is a great attraction for college students and people who come to visit our school.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: Pick Your Poison – At UCF you can choose to go out or attend house parties, and you will not be disappointed with either choice. Clubs are great here and are VERY lenient when it comes to age. Clubs are walking distance from campus, and there are buses that can take you to the downtown ones. House parties just as well will not disappoint. If you are attending a house party most likely you will be off campus were the rules are less strict, but again you will not be disappointed.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports Are Important – One of the most important things at UCF are sports, everyone enjoys tailgating its' definitely on the preferred pass times at here. Athletics are taken seriously at UCF and workout equipment is state of the art--especially with the newly redesigned Rec-and-Wellness Center.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The Majority of the Student Body Looks Good – UCF is one of the largest of most diverse schools in the United States. That beings said the majority of the student body is in shape and attractive, this is more true during the summer semesters of the college. Girls are beautiful, and are willing to have fun and go to clubs. The guys are for the most part fit and athletic.

Overall Experience: U Can Finish – I have completed my four year degree at the same college I started at, and obtained the degree I went for, nursing. I have no complaints and no regrets. There are of course, things I would have done differently, however, the end result is all that matters. I am happy with my success at UCF. Gained some fun times, met new people, and memories for a lifetime.

4 Recent Alumnus

Weather: Florida Sunshine – For the most part, the weather is great all year round. Though, the humidity can at times seem unbearable, the a/c works great in all the classrooms and buildings. Hurricanes are of course something to beware of during the season, but in my years at this school there were very minimal issues with hurricane disasters. As far as the winter months, it does get chilly, however, it is a nice break from the hot, summer months.

3 Recent Alumnus

Parking: To sum it up, there are just too many students with vehicles, and not enough parking spots. Many of parking spots are limited to staff, making it more difficult. The permit costs are ridiculously outrageous and should be addressed. Many of the parking lots are far and very inconvenient, since the campus is very large. On the plus side, students can make due without a car on campus. Walking and biking is always an option and very reasonable. In addition, there are buses that run fairly well on campus.

2 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Its hard to get financial aid when your parents exceed most of the salary requirements and then scholarship opportunities are very precise in the type of people that can apply.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Strictness: Some Strictness – I cannot say that I know all the rules being that I have not gotten in trouble with the law. I do know that in some dorms if caught with drugs by your RA you can risk being kicked out of your housing facility. Our campus is a wet campus, I believe, which means we are allowed to drink on campus if of age.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
