5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: A ton of places near by to eat. All flavors/styles. Fast food to gourmet food within 5 miles of campus

4 Recent Alumnus

Computers: Free printing provided by student government. Sometimes wait times are long, especially around midterms and finals.

3 Recent Alumnus

Local Atmosphere: Lots to do, disney, universal studios, night life, bars, outdoor sports

5 College Junior

Majors: Rosen College of Hospitality – Being in the Rosen College of Hospitality Management is one of the best things at my college. I love it because there is a lot of hands on experience, professors bring in many industry leaders and share their experience with us. The workload is not too much but it does take a lot of time outside of school hours. The subjects are very interesting to learn especially my World of the Wines class.

Off-Campus Dining: Off-Campus Dinning – Off campus dinning is slightly cheaper then on campus facilities and restaurants. There are places like Tijuana Flats and Firehouse Subs that give student discounts and its very convenient.

3 College Junior

Computers: The computers at the library are slow and sometimes in some areas of the building personal lap tops can not pick up wireless signals. Otherwise computer labs are kept clean and professional.

2 College Junior

Parking: Not Enough Spots – The parking on UCF isn't bad but for some of the garages there isn't enough parking for those especially in the ones closets to the gym or union.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Campus Check-Up – UCF hospital is really advanced with many departments which helps the students with anything that they have questions for. Also there is a dentistry which is new and is really help even if you don't have insurance it isn't a lot of money to get your teeth clean. Also the campus has a 24/7 program that helps people get around the campus if they don't feel comfortable walking by themselves at night.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I'm very happy I ended up here. I'm really enjoy, the classes, the atmosphere, and the campus.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: A Crowd of Many Clubs – Orlando is definitely a crowded place that is full of amazing places and things to do. Since University of Central Florida is in Orlando with all the amusement parks, you can get discounts to the amusement park for being a student at UCF which is pretty amazing. On campus in front of the Union which is the central point at UCF, clubs set up outside trying to get people to come and join and there are a lot of clubs but not all of them can be there since it is a small area but it is really cool to see how many clubs.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Off Camous Housing – It varies from place to place. It's very expensive, but most of them are pretty good quality.

4 College Junior

Computers: The school's computer labs/printing labs are pretty good, but the WIFI can be pretty terrible.

4 College Freshman

Parking: Lots of Garages – There are plenty places to park. The fees are a little pricy in my opinion.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Great Not Amazing – it has many positives but can be better organized and maintained.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I Dont Regret Business – I am happy with my program and the track laid out for me. The track is simple and certainly prepares one for their potential career path. I am not worried about finding a job because I know I will have an internship that will lead me to my chosen career path. The concern I have is finding a job in the particular career path I desire opposed to simply an available one. My goal is to be in the career I desire within two years of graduating.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Frequent but Under Control – There are a lot of drinkers, but its not that out of hand. There is frequent police patrols over all parts of campus and many people are caught. I am not really afraid of any incidences.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Really Good Track – I am satisfied with the Business Major track and do not plan on changing my major throughout my college career. There are many internship opportunities and many scholarships that the college of business awards to students. There are also many speakers that come to UCF to discuss various business topics.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Alternatives to Drinking – I like the fact that the university offers events to students as alternatives to drinking.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Living on Campus – Living in a dorm is convenient, but would be better if you could choose who you room with.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Safety on Campus – I feel safe when I walk alone on campus, but it would be better if there were more emergency poles located around campus.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: If you want to party this is the place to go. I dont think there is a weakened when a party is not happening.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Well in Reach – As far as off campus eating goes its hard to beat that at UCF. It is conveniently placed between major roads, both populated with main stream eateries. There is also a cluster of restaurants ive never seen anywhere else. Rather they exist other places I don't know. One such place is LazyMoon which is well known for their delicious oversized floppy pizza.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: On campus the main place to access a computer is in the library. These computers are by no means high performance, however, there also not dinosaurs. If you want to print you have to put money on your knights card then use that money to print which can be a pain. That set aside if your willing to walk just a little further there are various computer labs hidden around the school. If you can find them you can use them. They all also offer free printing! The only draw back is that its not in color so if you want color you have to go back to the library.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on UCF's campus. There are plenty of emergency phones scattered through campus and police drive around all night. Campus is well lit too.

4 College Senior

Facilities: My School – The University of Central Florida is very similar to most American universities. We have the second largest student body in the nation. Our campus is really unique in that it was built in a circular shape. This makes campus very easy to navigate. My only complaint about UCF is the food. We have only chain restaurants for the most part on campus and off campus. I would love to see more diversity and mom and pop kind of eateries, giving the college town vibe.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
