Campus Strictness: Parking Tickets – UCF isn't that bad when it comes to strictness. Unfortunately though when it comes to parking, they enforce it like there is no tomorrow. If you are parking on campus without a permit, even for just fifteen minutes, expect to be ticketed.

3 College Student

Guys & Girls: Girl to Guy Ratio – Social life is great. Newspaper and Student activity boards keep you up to date on everything that happens. Student government also keeps you up to date through emails and etc.

5 College Student

Computers: Computers are everywhere, 5 stories of accessible computers, printers, DVD/VHS players, network is extremely fast, wireless across campus, and easy access. Most people have their own computers and there are tons of major related computer labs.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Definitely Safe – I am the type of person to be careful and watch out no matter where I am. At the University of Central Florida, I hardly ever feel unsafe and the need to protect myself as I feel in many situations. In my opinion, the emergency lights and buttons make me feel a lot more safe on campus walking alone and that there is always help whenever I need it.

3 College Senior

Facilities: Large and Always Growing – UCF builds at least one new building on campus every semester I have been here. It is interesting to see how rapidly the campus changes.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: Not Too Many Drugs – Hang out with the right crowd and you have nothing to worry about, i have never seen open drug use.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are a number of off campus housing that is geared towards college students, either wanting to live with their friends, by themselves, or with other roommates. The cost is affordable, however crime can be a problem in some locations.

1 College Junior

Parking: Not enough parking spots for 55,000 students. The decals to park are over 100$. Takes 30+ minutes to find a spot unless your there at the crack of dawn.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The girls here are one of 2 types. The hot girls that only like alpha males or ok girls that will sleep with anything. Pretty good looking overall and things tend to get raunchy

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Meal Plan and Restaurants – The meal plan is very good food but needs more healthy choices and is far to expensive. The restaurants are average chain food sushi, subway, and pizza.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Dining Around Town – There are lots of excellent dining option around our campus. Within walking a driving distance, we ha e Many choices. Some of my personal favorites are applebees, ale house, chipotle, and pita pit.

4 College Junior

Academics: Elementary Education – I love being in the elementary education program. The work load is a little tough sometimes, but for the most part all of the assignments are practical. I love the program because all of the activities are associated directly with what we will be doing as teachers. Through the teaching program I have been able to start su substitute teaching with the orange county school district.

College Senior

Campus Strictness: Administration Is Hands-Off – I haven't really heard of the campus administration stepping in for anything. The police have busted meth labs on campus a few times, but other than that everything is pretty hands-off.

4 College Senior

Campus Dining: Good Choices, Lacking Marketplace – I like the variety of restaurants on campus, but I've heard that the student marketplace (with the best meal plan options) isn't that good.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Renovations Rock, Older Buildings Decay – The landscaping and recent buildings/renovations are all gorgeous and high tech, but some of the older buildings have areas caked in dust/chalk and it's really obvious that the carpets are old/decaying.

5 College Senior

Facilities: Regional Campus – I really like that there are many regional campuses for school. It makes going to school very easy when there are so many different classes offered at different times

2 College Freshman

Nightlife: A Lot of Night Life, Too Much Drinking – Theres a lot of clubs near UCF and downtown but theres a lot of underage drinking that comes along with it

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I absolutely love going to UCF. The campus is really beautiful and I have had awesome teachers so far. I don't feel like this school is a big party school. It's more relaxing and peaceful, which makes me love it even more.

2 College Senior

Health & Safety: Personal Safety – I don't feel that safe at UCF simply because I am from Central Florida and watch the news and see the crimes on the "east side" of Orlando

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Rains a Lot – With UCF being in Florida, it tends to storm often. It is inconvenient to get soaked walking to class and then be freezing while your sitting in class. The good thing about Florida though is it can be storming one minute and then the next thing you know, the sun is out.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Too Much Traffic – No matter what time of day you have class, you can expect to be backed up. The costs are fine, tickets are outrageously high, and cars aren't really needed on campus. There are lots of parking garages but they get filled up quickly and freshman end up having to park farthest from school.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The University of Central Florida is very diverse when it comes to your ethnicity, race, religion and sexual orientation. People are very accepting of others who have different views and opinions. When you walk around campus and see groups of people interacting, you will always see different ethnicities and races together.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greeks Are Everywhere – Greek life does lots of volunteer work and campus activities. They are also held to higher expectations and are viewed as being more elite than the average student. They also throw good parties but we don't have frat houses.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Amazing Atmosphere – Central Florida is surrounded by chains of restaurants and entertainment franchises. We are the second largest university in the nation, so we party a lot but we also strive academically. The campus is also very safe and we have a very good football team. The students here are nice and are very helpful. We also live about half an hour from Disney which is awesome.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Dorm Life and Friends – My freshman year I stayed in the dorms and I met so of the most fascinating people, just by living down the hall from them. I recommend Nike dorms to any freshman because of the safe and comforting environment it surrounds one with. The one and only down side to the dorms is the cost. Off campus living is a lot more reasonable when it comes to money out of your pocket.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
