3 College Freshman

Weather: I am a Floridian so I am familiar with the weather. Although it gets hot, I could not ever bear to be in the cold.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Safe & Police Can Be Found Everywhere – Although the campus is large, there are usually people around, and cops are usually around or near campus. Police are strict on underage drinking, and other illegal activities.

2 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: Pretty Good. The bus system is quite convenient, though parking is hell

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Our varsity teams are ok, womens soccer is quite good though. Inter mural is good too. We will continue to get better, especially with the entire school obsessed with using the gym.

3 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: A Little Too Bro – While the student body is quite large, second largest in the country, there are quite a few fraternity and sorority members. This would be fine if they didn't pervade every aspect of social life, as in where ever you go you are bound to run into them. Also way to many military personnel everywhere. Girls are quite attractive, though a lot are stuck up.

3 Recent Alumnus

Weather: Florida Rains – The weather is always pretty nice, however it does rain frequently during the fall. The cold months are very enjoyable however. The dry cool air is refreshing while not too cold.

2 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: There are quite a bit of drug users around campus. While not as pervasive in the dorms, the official and unofficial off campus housing is polluted with weed, cocaine, and ecstasy. Not as visible to the casual observer, a member of the campus social life would be familiar with the subculture.

3 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: UCF attempts very hard to be the best at everything, however it only succeeds half the time. While our gym is modern and recently renovated, it is still too small for such a large student population. Our library is old and need of expansion and renovation, while one floor has been renovated, the rest are neglected. Overall the biggest issue is the lack of experienced teachers, and classes they teach.

1 College Junior

Parking: There is never a space available after 10am. You normally have to play a sort of vehicular duck duck goose game to get a spot. Normal parking in peak hours is between 20-45 min. The permits are high priced and you have to pay extra for a hang tag! Who wants to put a sticker on the outside of their window?

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Not Very Strict – The campus is pretty relaxed as far as most things go. I rarely see security and the only thing that I've seen anyone get upset about are people jumping in the fountain.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Dorms Are Average – Most of the dorms are average in size but there are few that are newer/remodeled except for the "Towers" which are very selective as to who they will except.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking can sometimes be hectic. Being the second largest college in the nations, there are thousands of students with cars and sometimes they have to fight for a parking space. However, students may purchase a reserved parking decal for the year. All vehicles must have a parking decal, purhased at a nominal fee of $44.00.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: You Want Sport? We've Got 'Em! There are several sport to take part in such as football, basketball, and tennis and even bowling, water polo, and rugby which compete in various tournaments. There are also campus sports club where members meet and have a great time with people who enjoying doing the same thing that they do.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The Melting Pot – UCF is a very open-minded and culturally accepting university. There are various clubs to join that are geared for specific nationalities or sexual orientations. There are events such as mulitcultural day that celebrate the diversity of our campus.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Reaching Your Goals – As a beginner it's a bit intimidating, but I feel very proud of myself because I"ve gotten this far and I hope to complete the program I am in. If I had a chance to do it again I would have done more in high school to be further ahead. My career goals are to become a creative engineer although I am very concerned about our future as students because of the economic struggles our country is facing today.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The overall population is very diverse and there are many kinds of religious, political and sexually oriented students. The atmosphere that I see is serious about work as well as about relaxation. There are many groups available to join depending on your interests.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: UCF has a magnificent campus as well as athletic center, the dacilities that are available to the student population are very extensive.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Charity Organizations – The greek life on campus is always participating in community service initiatives.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Tourist Town – Orlando is the epicenter of all things tourism, from the outlet malls to the theme parks, the city has something to occupy every weekend, when I'm not busy with homework or studying for tests.

3 College Junior

Academics: GREAT OPPORTUNITY – The education I am receiving as a student in the Master of Science in Accounting program is geared toward giving its students the best opportunities to succeed and network.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Not Fun – Our school recently opened up a new parking garage thathelped to alleviate some of the parking problems. A lot of it has to do with the time people are arriving (harder to find parking from about 9-11 am).

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drinking More Common – If drugs are used it is mostly just weed. It is more common to see people drrinking.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: I Don't Know About It. I know people smoke, but I have never seen people doing any illegal activities.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I's Not Bad. There is a lot of variety on campus, and endless restaurants off campus surrounding UCF.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: all wifi everywhere on campus and are accedssuble everywhere

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
