Parking: Don't Want It – I do not understand why there are parking permits that I have to pay for. I am already paying for housing, food, and my education. If I am going to pay to park at least have an abundance so that I don't have to walk two miles to get to my car or drive for 30 minutes waiting for someone to leave.

Health & Safety: I have noticed that the police are every where. Not in a menacing way or an annoying way, just the right amount to ensure safety. Of course, at times they could be in more areas than others but it can't be perfect.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Lots of White Students – Of course in most schools in the United States the school population is majorly white. With this they get priviledges like sorority and fraternity houses and it seems like other perks as well. There are however tons of multicultural groups, sororities and fraternities for those who do not fit into that mold. I feel like the balance could be better but maybe that is just me.

Guys & Girls: An Opinion of Both – -Since the school is so diverse it's really hard to just generalize. But one thing I can say for sure is the students who attend here majority of them are super nice and helpful.
-Student looks: Well both the girls and boys dress nicely on a daily bases in my opinion. Nothing too over the top at times (like the occasional girl who wears really high heels that makes you think "this campus is HUGE doesn't your feet hurt") and a few just walked out of my dorm and didn't really think it matters look.
-Interests: Because of the large campus and student size interests really vary. This to me is apparently obvious because of the wide selections of clubs to choose from. There's some into games, martial arts, their ethnic groups, anime, card based games, stepping, dancing, activities in general, debate, chocolate and more. Though because of the way the school is ingeniously split if you're on the artsy side of school you'll find those who are into arts, drawing, music, plays, theatre and more. While on the other side of the spectrum and campus are those into analytical things such as business, engineering and more. And more examples are the majors and locations split off.
-Social Life: There is so much to do and many activities that goes on it's a shame to not have done at least one thing a week outside of class.

Academics: Medical Majors – The medical school at UCF is growing much like everything else here. I feel like i'm getting a thorough education, although it's a challenge, but I know my degree will be worth it.

5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: Great Discounts – There is a wide variety of off-campus dining within 2 miles of UCF. Also, there are many opportunities for student discount, for example, 10% off frozen yogurt.

5 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: I Love It – The gym at UCF is amazing. The library is very usefull and large as well. There is always something interesting going on as far as campus clubs and activties.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: There is very little campus crime, I feel safe on campus. There is an active campus police department always nearby. Also, there are many procedure reviews and drills for any safety precautions. I overall feel very safe on campus.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: The UCF drug scene is not too bad. It always depends on the company you keep though. If you are not into that lifestyle it is easy to stay away from it. It's not flashed around and no one pressures you to do anything you're not comfortable with.

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a huge city with something for everyone! Being a student here has provided me the opportunity to do so many different things. There are plenty of concerts to go to, huge theme parks less than an hour away, awesome restaurants, and tons of shopping (including huge outlet malls). There are also lots of lakes and parks to visit when you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Everyone I have met here so far is very nice and informative when I need help with something.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: The Student Union – The Student Union is my favorite part of UCF. It has everything you could possibly need for studying, eating, relaxing, shopping and meeting with friends

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek Housing – Greek row is beautiful, and the houses are amazing. Greek life makes social events on campus more fun.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing if very reasonably priced, and within biking or walking proximity to classes.

Overall Experience: Better Than I Expected! When I got accepted to UCF, I was so excited to be moving to Orlando and to meet new people and experience new things... But when I got here, it was SO MUCH BETTER than I expected. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and I always feel comfortable. I've made friends easily, and it makes me happy to know that if I'm lost, all I have to do is ask someone. The school is HUGE, so you have room to grow, and do and see different things... join clubs, see shows, go to concerts and football games, and all the fun college stuff. And as far as the professors go... they are SO helpful and kind. All the professors I've had thus far have been more than helpful. And the grading was good too!!

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: Not a Thing! Since I started, I have not heard or seen of any kind of drugs or alcohol. I'm aware that there is always going to be some people involved with that sort of thing, but the school is pretty serious about no drugs or alcohol, and no peer pressure. It's great...and safe!!

5 College Junior

Athletics: Great Sports Teams! I love my schools sports. No matter the sport, there are always students supporting them, and encouraging others to participate! The teams do very well, also!

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Relatively New – What makes UCF unique is that the campus is relatively new. The dorms werent built 100 years ago like some other Universities, and it shows. It has a planned circular layout and was made to resemble Disney World. Other campuses i've been to are spread out and not easy to navigate. But the best part of UCF is that you get out of it what you put in. There are plenty of oppurtunities.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greeks Are Involved – The Greeks are involved on campus. I attend some of their events; they do a good job putting them on. Students who I talk to that are part of the Greek system are really involved in it. They stay busy with Greek events.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Good Variety at an Affordable Price – There are a lot of restaurants near campus. There are a lot of variety including pizza places, cuban food, asain, 24-hour breakfast places etc. Most restaruants are chains such as TGI Fidays and Buffalo Wildwings but some are local. My favorites are Tijuana Flats, the Mellow Mushroom, Kyoto, First Watch and Longhorn Steakhouse. Around Universal Studios there are some high priced restaurants but if you can afford to eat there they are a great experience. Most other restaurants are pretty affordable.

2 College Senior

Drug Safety: No Drugs Allowed – I have never seen anyone visibly partake of drugs or alcohol on campus. In the Resindence Halls drugs are a one way ticket to lose your housing. As far as alcohol goes, you get a warning the first time if you are under-age.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Many New Buildings – The joke about our campus is that UCF, the University of Central Florida, really stands for Under Contsruction Forever. There are many new and state-of-the-art buildings on campus. Every building is in top condition.

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: they have a lot of fun challenges that you can do. one store, "wackadoos", has a challenge known as the "Fat A** Burger Challenge". Keeps you entertained.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Generally Clean – there are associates that are cleaning the restrooms on a regular basis. have not had a bad experience yet

4 College Junior

Computers: First Come First Served – The computers are well kept throughout the campus. They also offer a lot of different options so you won't be stuck in the lab i.e. renting laptops, iPads. The only issue is out of almost 46,000 students they only have 50 iPads to loan out for the year. Not a very high chance of you getting one

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: Ways to Get Involved – Greek life doesn't dominate UCF, but they do have a strong presence. Greek life is a great way to get involved and meet people.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
