2 College Senior

Athletics: Everything Is Football – Theres team spirt for the football team, and a bit for the basketball team, but that's because Michael Jordan's son is on our team.

2 College Senior

Campus Dining: The dining halls are decent, but the food is fattening, and be worried about gaining 30lbs, I know someone who gained 60lbs.

Around campus the food is nasty, expensive, and horrible for your health. Lines are long too

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Dinnig Halls – The university has variaty of places to eat. Sometimes you can get tired of the same places but the food that they offer are good quality.

Local Atmosphere: Wonderful Place – Orlando is huge! There is ALWAYS something going on! Whether it's a carnival at Disney, or a small concert.

Facilities: Our size is both our strength and our weakness. I feel that the school did not adequately plan for the expansion and that they do not have rigorous applicant standards. However, because of our size the school has a tremendous amount of services to offer students, from the rec center to tutoring services to career fairs to symposiums. The Health Center is probably my favorite part of the school. Free primary visits, a women's health clinic and a dental clinic which all offer services at very affordable rates. Located in Central Florida there is a lot to offer students when it comes to restaurants and shopping. There are also many places for outdoor-loving students to go hiking, biking, canoing, etc. However, getting places in this urban-sprawl city can be difficult and frustrating.

Parking: The Parking situation is absolutely horrendous. We have 50,000+ students that attend the school, most of which commute. Central Florida severely lacks adequate public transportation so, this requires those who do not live within biking or walking distance (most do not) or have a shuttle service at their apartments (again, most do not) to drive to campus. During the beginning of the school year, and during peak times you can drive around for 15-45 minutes trying to find a spot. Parking permit costs are around $50/semester an they are very, very diligent about handing out parking tickets (I've gotten 4 in the past 4 years). UCF has initiated a Zip Car program, which I hope will relieve some of the congestion but they need to come up with more creative solutions for all its commuting students who may drive upwards of an hour to get to school.

Athletics: I am not athletic so, I rarely use them. However, I've heard that they are fantastic. They offer outings and free classes. They have a wide variety of machines and they just completed an expansion of the recreation center.

Facilities: The Entire Enviroment – The student body being so large is amazing. I meet people from all around the world on a daily basis. I would have to say the spirit overall is great. The students are always doing something and if you have done everything there is a 30 min drive to theme parks. It is just epic all the things you can do.

Weather: The weather is great all year around. During the summer the compliment of sunny skies is uplifting. During the fall and spring the weather is breezy but still great for any outdoor activities. Finally the winter is like of the best time because the breezy is wonderful , although a sweater or jacket is a must.

Academics: The University of Central Florida is a research University and the majority of professors have careers in their expertise. The material is challenging for some classes but all the professors I've had are super helpful. The campus is the second largest in the Nation. So there is something for everyone to do.

4 College Junior

Majors: Internship Opportunities – I have not yet reached the stage of interning, but i have been oing service learning in elementary schools that may as well serve as internship because you are pretty much doing the same thing. i tutor kids that fall below grade level and their teacher couldn't find time in their schedule to sit down one on one with them. The one on one opportunity that is offered to them by me, give them a chance to feel comfortable in asking questions since its not that many people in the group (3 to 4 students).

4 College Junior

Facilities: My school is great. the campus has many opportunites for students no matter what you like. there are over 300 social clubs to be joined and would be very benefitial for transitioning from high school to college. There are lots of resources for the students which are excessible late during the day for the convienance of the students. there is also construction going on to constantly meet the demands of the thosands of students that attend UCF every year.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Athletics at UCF is pretty cool. the fans travel far and wide to see the varsity sports. Football remains the number one sport at my school generating lots of money which then ges in to making their training facilities up to date. the basketball games also be packed with lots of people. those are the only two sprts i am aware of at my school beause those are the only sports i like. overall, our athletes get lots of support.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drugs and Alcohol – campus administration maintains a safe and reasonable atmosphere for the students and staff

4 College Freshman

Weather: The weather at UCF doesn't affect too much of my campus experience. It has rained a few times, but that's just because its Florida. It always rains in Florida. One campus event that the rain did affect once, however, was one of the home football games. It was pouring, so nobody ended up attending the game.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: University of Central Florida has many athletic teams. The biggest, of course, is our football team. Football games are so much fun and especially the tailgate before. Everyone lines up their tents in memory mall before the football home games. There are also other teams such as soccer, volleyball, etc.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a huge city with pretty much everything. This is where tourists come to visit. Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World are just some of the attractions that Orlando has. There are also many shopping centers such as the Florida Mall, Waterford Lakes, and the Oviedo Mall.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: There are clubs around campus that are 18 plus, but they are not that great. There are also some frat parties, but I haven't been to one yet.

3 College Student

Drug Safety: Drinking Games – The number of drinking games I've ran into are endless. Drugs come with the group of people you hang around. Law enforcement is very strict and plan to bust anybody that gets out of hand. Other than that it is mostly personal preference.

3 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: University Drive – Just across the street from campus lies many off-campus restaurants. Each have their own set of student discounts and specials. The restaurants each have their own specialty items and meals. There is a diverse choice of food to help make just about anyone feel at home.

4 College Junior

Facilities: UCF is a beautiful campus with a lot of offer. In addition to the library, we have the All Knight Study Lounge, which is open 9 AM Monday to 9 PM on Friday. It's the perfect place if you don't like the neverending commotion in the library and are looking for a quiet place. The Student Union houses a great variety of places to eat, the SGA and Student Involvement Offices, Express Print Shop, and Computer Lab, along with an entire third floor study space. SGA and the Campus Activities Board are always planning free concerts, movies, and music events to go to, and there's always free stuff to get.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is one of the best college cities to live and go to school in. We have the best college bars, such as Library and Deko. If you're not into drinking, you can go to Park Ave and have a nice dinner and dessert with beautiful scenery, or go over to Disney or Universal! Shopping is wonderful, with malls such as Mall at Millenia, Prime and Premium Outlets, and the Florida Mall.

5 College Student

Facilities: Our Dream Gym – The gym at the Univ. of Central Florida is extraordinary. The Recreation and Wellness Center conatins every kind of workout machine known to man. All the free weights are well kept and there is plenty of them for everyone to use. There is an Olympic pool for the days you want to go out for a swim. My favorite part of the gym has to be the indoor rock climbing wall. The staff is also very friendly and help keep the gym clean and looking nice. Nearly all of the students enjoy using the gym.

4 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: The school has a great gym facility and athletics are widely advertised and promoted.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Living on campus is manageable but not ideal. I think its good for students to have a work life balance and living on campus feels like all school all the time. It is better for students development to live elsewhere.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
