Campus Dining: Ok but Repetitive – In the cafeteria are the best dining options and ways to spend time with other students. The dining halls seem to be fun and enjoyable and really tasty food.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: Knight life is very fun. There is a lot to do, and many get togethers amongst the students.

Athletics: The University of Central Florida's campus is no UF or FSU, but students, faculty, and staff love their school. I have never seen so much school pride other than on TV with the schools mentioned before. Football season is really one of my favorite seasons, and I don't even watch football that much. I love to see students and their families dress up in black and gold and support this up and coming university. Basketball season is more exciting to me, especially with the recent enrollment of Michael Jordan's sons. Not only can they play, but UCF grabs much publicity from them. Overall, everyone at UCF loves their school.

Campus Housing: My Housing Experience – Living on campus has its perks. It is very convenient and gives one the feel of actually being in college. I think that it is vital that freshmen and sophomores live on campus. I know that when I have classes that are in the a.m. hours, I am extremely grateful about on campus housing. One of the downsides to on campus living is the expense. It is extremely expensive to live on campus, especially with the price inflation of tuition and books. Also, for how much that I pay to live on campus, I feel as though I should have someone cleaning my dorm every week, and toilet paper and little amenities of that sort should be supplied. Now, we do have unlimited water and air conditioning that we don't have to pay for. If we leave the lights on all day, it wouldn't cost anything, but with the amount of money that on campus housing is, I think we should have a washing machine and dryer, either free to use or established in the apartment.

Weather: The weather changes from sunny to cloudy with out you even expecting it. so an umbrella is important to have with you at all times.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There is a no tollerance policy in all housing. I havent seen any drugs or alcohol on campus

4 College Junior

Diversity: Plenty of People – There's a bit of everyone here and I love it! They all have their own little communities too. The LGTB scene is wide and accepting and they have plenty of music heads, movie minds, and sport fiends that you'll find a spot to fit in with no problem.

3 College Junior

Academics: Full Spectrum – I've had experiences on both sides of the negative and the positive but one this is for certain, these professors want you to succeed.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: House Parties Reign – The downtown scene is too crazy, across from campus is alright, but you can't beat a house party where you get to be your own bartender and actually hear what your friends are saying when they stand next to you.

Transportation: Due to the large population of the university, parking spaces require payment and the spaces do fill up quickly. However, to conquer the latter problem a new garage was recently made which has immensely helped in decreasing the parking problem. I believe paying for the parking spaces is a valid request since it prevents non-UCF students and employees from taking up the already packed parking spaces. For people who do not have a parking pass, there is a convenient 5 dollar pass per day which is provided in the garages.

Academics: Being one of the largest Universities in the United States, University of Central Florida is the New York of opportunity. Psychology is one of the most popular majors at UCF and there is an abundant amount of psychology classes from 'Clinical Psychology' to 'Sleep & Dreams' to choose from. The professors teaching the classes are all top notch well-qualified PhD holders. The Psychology advisers are well trained and friendly and willing to help you enroll in a variation of internship opportunities from 'Service Learning' to 'Research Experience'. University of Central Florida is definitely the desirable university.

Scholarships: They Are Pretty Good. Because UCF is so big, it does take awhile for things to get taken care of, but they do take care of things for you.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: A Little Bit of Everything – UCF is located in a place that provides it with a diverse student body. Here you will find all sorts of people with different ideas. Orlando's attractions and nightlife ensure that there is always something to do. The campus is large and modern with everything you could want close by. UCf has something for everybody.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Lots to Choose from – There are many student apartments around UCF as well as houses with landlords willing to rent to roommates. However the apartment complexes located closest to the school will tend to be more expensive. If you don't mind having to drive a little more you can find good housing at relatively cheap rates considering you are in Orlando.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Apply Early and You Will Live Comfortable – Due to the large number of students enrolled at UCF you MUST apply for housing as soon as you apply for admission. The housing offered on campus varies from traditional style dorms like the Libra community to suite hotel/apartment style state of the art Towers residences. Advantages to living in places such as Apollo or Libra is the closeness to the academic area and dinning facilities. If you want your own room and more privacy you can live in Lake Claire or Nike and Hercules. If you don't mind walking a little bit the Towers has everything you could want but will cost you significantly more.

Parking: UCF parking sucks to be honest. Because we are growing so rapidly the school is having a hard time keeping up with the demand of parking spaces. Thankfully they provide shuttles that pickup kids from the surrounding neighborhoods, as well as pickup stops for people to park farther away and just ride the bus closer to where they need to be. Ticketing can be rough, they are strict but if you pay attention you should be fine, they also dismiss tickets a lot. Many kids do it, but I would say this is not a campus that you could just walk everywhere, you need a car to get off campus. Parking permits are about $80 for the year.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Since UCF is a fairly new school our sports, although we are definitely getting better, are not quite up to par when compared to our rival schools. But none the less UCF fans gear up early in the morning every Saturday for football season and tailgate and cheer and enjoy all of the experiences the game has to offer. When the imfamous Zombie Nation song comes on everyone jumps in the stands! There is no short supply of spirit here!

Facilities: When I first toured UCF I fell in love with the campus, and that love has not squandered at all since I have gone here over the past two years. I attend the gym regularly and they have just completed a total expansion of the gym which includes double the floor space for machines, they added a lap pool, as well as brand new machines that are very modern! They have a beautiful lounge pool with lifeguards and music and a ton of chairs which is a great place to relax. But you can't spend all day at the gym or the pool, eventually you have to go to class. The classrooms are all very modern with ceiling projectors and new technology to help the teachers get their points across. Walking from class to class the campus is rarely dirty, we take pride in our school. The library is gorgeous with a stained glass window on the middle level, and plenty of space to hide away and study! It's the perfect atmosphere to get anything done from group studying to studying your life away on the single most important test you will ever take thanks to the different levels of quiet they have established, the first floor being loudest and fifth the quietest. Campus activities are plentiful, the student government tries to get a lot of perks for their students. Our beautiful reflection pond is center stage during homecoming week when we all participate in the spirit splash! The only day out of the entire year you are allowed to go into the fountain! All in all the University of Central Florida is a great place to go, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time year and can't wait for the next two years!

Campus Dining: Lots of Options – There are restaurants and snack options all over campus at the University of Central Florida. In the Student Union alone, there are multiple options, but there are also sandwich shops, Tex-mex, fast food, cafes and other options spread throughout buildings across campus. In addition, if you are looking for a quick snack, vending machines are available in just about every building.

Local Atmosphere: Vibrant Town to Satisfy Anyone's Likes – Orlando is a vibrant city with lots to do. If you like sports, we have a NBA team that plays in our brand new beautiful Amway Center as well as several MLB Spring Training Teams in the area. International drive is filled with tourist attractions and dinner shows as well as arcades. We have some of the best shopping outlets and malls all over the area. Church Street, the university area, downtown, and Waterford Lakes have a variety of bars and clubs available for nighttime activities. If you like the beach, it's a quick drive to the Florida coast from Orlando.

4 College Senior

Academics: Service-Learning Curriculum – I enrolled at the University of Central Florida because it is known for the service-learning opportunities provided in the curriculum, especilly in the COllege of Education. I believe there is no better way to apply what you have learned from the professors and the textbooks then through direct observation and participation in service-learning.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drugs and Alcohol – The use of drug and alcohol is done on a private level.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: With the various clubs that one can get involved in. It's clear the campus is very diversified.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: UCF offers free printing and Computer access. Cant get any better than that!

1 College Sophomore

Weather: Rain Sucks. It storms a lot. The rain is annoying when walking to classes.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
