Scholarships: More Frustrating Than It Should Be – I've gone through this process several times yet it doesn't get easier. Each semester there's new forms to fill out and they often take a long time to get processed and require you to stay on top of things as they also don't give adequate notice of the things you need and how they will affect your financial aid.

Local Atmosphere: Diamond in the Rough – There is so much to do in Central Florida that most locals forget about! Besides the typical tourist attractions of Disney and other theme parks, near by there is the Kennedy Space Center which offers tours. Also, there are a number of science and art museums in the area which are more interesting than it may seem. Of course one of the best things in the area is the beach!

Greek Life: I am not a Greek, but have come to view them in a pretty positive light. The Greeks here aren't what I always thought they would be like. They set up all sorts of fun events on campus and I have yet to see any large amount of drinking happening at any of these events. Just last week, one of the fraternities here had a haunted house and a halloween party that was open to everyone. It was good, clean fun without alcohol.

Guys & Girls: UCF has a very diverse student body and it definately shows in the number of clubs and groups that are available to students. There are clubs available for a wide variety of interests ranging from sports to playing board games. There are also a large number of groups for different ethnic groups or religions. I was able to find a club to join right away and it helped me to make friends with similar interests.

Computers: Printing on Campus – There is a printing lab on campus at UCF, but it is always packed and it is much easier if you have your own printer. I am lucky because I live off campus in an appartment complex and they have free printing in the front office there. However, I still bought a printer for myself just in case.

Athletics: Not so much spirit as I'd like but the team is getting better and the gym is awesome

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There are some decent places but I like more variety

Transportation: Commuting Is O.K. If you live close enough to take the shuttle, it is the best option. It passes every 20 minutes and you do not have to deal with parking. For someone like me who does not live close enough, commuting is fairly expensive with rising gas prices. Parking is awful starting around 11 am.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Great Variety – It doesn't matter which direction you leave campus, there is food. On University the greatest variety of for is available. There is latino food, pizza joints, bars, sports grilles, fast food, and ice cream parlors. It is a five to ten minute walk and two minute drive. It is literally across the street from UCF. Most of the places are priced to fit a student's budget.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: Athletic Centers Are Great – The recreation center at UCF is incredible. It has everything anyone can need and it is free to students. It is clean and beautiful. There is an indoor heated pool, an indoor track, and many machines. You can sign up for classes on the phone and have a trainer during workouts all at no cost to students. I love it. Around the center is a parking garage so it is convenient to park there. It is also near the Student Union so food is close by.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Many majors to choose from. Happy with the choices.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Rain Rain Rain – Rain is the biggest problem. Classes get cancelled but it has to be heavy rain and lightning for that to happen. Very rare for classes to get cancelled.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Time and Effort Is Needed – There are many opportunities at UCF for financial aid although I do not try for them. I am getting more involved in filling out applications and getting more awards. Effort and time is needed to get financial aid.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Although I have heard of some students at UCF doing drugs I hear more about drinking. I feel most students at UCF do more partying and drinking and less of drug activities.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Many Clubs and Organizations – There are many clubs and organizations on campus to help with the Diversity on Campus. There area always different booths and activities going on on campus to educate students and get people involved.

1 College Junior

Parking: Parking is terrible. Getting better, but when there are 50+ thousand students it can be hard to find a spot sometimes.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drink and Smoke – Lots of drinking and marijuana. Everyone drinks and smokes. Harder drugs depends on the people you hang out with.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek Housing – On campus there are mostly on sororities with 4 fraternity houses. The rest of fraternities have off campus housing or no housing at all. Right across the street is the "Greek Ghetto" Where 6 fraternity houses are located.

College Senior

Campus Strictness: I have no idea what the campus strictness is. Neither myself nor my friends/classmates were offenders.

4 College Senior

Diversity: Very Diverse Campus – As far as I can tell, UCF seems to be a very diverse campus. There are always events going on all over campus for different groups (i.e political).

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Plenty of Options for Every Budget – Orlando offers a variety of housing options convenient to UCF. Whether you're looking for a cheap, cookie cutter style complex or hard wood floors and character, there's something for everyone. Availability is rarely an issue.

4 College Senior

Facilities: A majority of the facilities on the UCF campus are fairly new or modern in their design. The gym is great -- a really good variety of a equipment for every work out you could think of. The Student Union has some great restuarants and is open 24 hours a day Monday through Friday for studying, etc.

Facilities: Get Involved! Our schools provides many opportunities for getting involved around campus. There are multiple clubs for nearly every interest available. Also, there are always special events taking place on campus for every seasonal celebration. Our school has an amazing gym as well which offers a wide variety of classes and planned nature trips.

3 Recent Alumnus

Weather: Plan for a Rainy Day – The weather varies on campus, especially in the summer months. Always bring an umbrella to class, even if it looks sunny. The campus is very open and if walking to or from class, you will get wet if unprepared. Sunny days are beautiful for walking through the campus though.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Friendly Atmosphere – The campus of UCF is very welcoming and easy to navigate. The dorms are very spacious and well maintained, especially Lake Claire. Nike dorms were very close to the gym, but weren't as comfoting as the on campus apartments. Overall, i love the social and physical comfort of the campus.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
