5 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There are plenty of attractive people from both genders, as well as a very diverse population. All interests, races, and personality types possible are covered.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: There is an abundant amount of resources available for maintaining good health and well being. The campus is quite safe and I never feel at risk, however there is an occasional theft or burglary that occurs which is expected due to the fact that there is 50,000+ students that attend the University.

5 College Junior

Facilities: 2nd largest school in nation
beautiful campus
new

College Junior

Weather: The weather is nothing that can be controlled so it doesnt matter

5 College Senior

Transportation: There are several bus routes that reaches the surrounding area to provide students with a way to get to school!

2 College Senior

Scholarships: I find the process to receive financial to be extremely flawed. I am for all intents and purposes independent from my parents finances, yet I am forced to include and am hindered by their financial situation on documents.

4 College Senior

Facilities: UCF has excellent facilities. Whether it be the Recreation and Wellness center, or the Student Union. Both exceed my standards for what a university should provide to their students.

4 College Senior

Computers: Most of the computers available to students on campus are readily available and capable of most operations that a typical student needs. There is sometimes a small wait list to access them though.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Even though I've been living here for 5 days, the overall experience has been great. The people are outgoing and are always wanting to do something.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Off-Campus Living – Living off-campus is definitely on-campus. There is the ability of doing more things in a more open environment. The cost can be a little high since most of the apartments are trying to make money off the students.

Campus Housing: Living on Campus – I live off campus but I know some people who lived in dorms and disliked the small rooms and amenities there.

Facilities: The UCF Recreation and Wellness Center is a phenomenon of its own. With a rock climbing wall, basketball courts, an indoor track, and group exercise rooms, anyone can workout. If you don't necessarily like "pumping iron," try out cardio kickboxing or yoga. There is so much to choose from. The library is huge! It is a great place to have study groups or research papers. A famous campus activity is the "Spirit Splash" during homecoming week. There is something someone can do at all times. The campus in general is mostly brick with many trees around it. UCF is a huge circle, so if a person gets lost, it's not the end of the world.

Local Atmosphere: "Uknight" in Orlando – The University of Central Florida is located in an area where everyone can find their niche. If one is interested in sports and fitness, UCF has a state-of-the-art recreation center and also provides intramural sports. The arena for the Orlando Magic is not far away, so when the NBA season starts, die-hard Magic fans can go support their team without using all of their gas tank. For attractions, the Student Government Association provides discounted tickets for enrolled students to places such as Islands of Adventure, Universal, and even for movie theaters. There are so many clubs one is able to join on campus. The atmosphere at UCF is friendly and everyone has school spirit.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! I do not think it matters which high school you came from, once you become a UCF Knight, even if you were not into sports before, everyone seems to be involved in showing spirit. Our recreation center is amazing. I would give this an A+ if they had a swim team. It is the only thing missing.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Somewhere Over the Rainbow – Uiversity of Central Florida is a melting pot. They have a wide variety of ages, races, and sexual orientation. One of the things I love the most about UCF is their wide selection of clubs. Even though my sexual orientation is straight, my younger brother is gay and I was able to join Equal for UCF to support gay rights and be able to hear and fight for things my brother will go through in the future.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There's No Place Like Home – The dorm is an experience that every person should experience; however, it is not the best choice for everyone. I like privacy and hot baths once in a while. You share a room (me, in particular with a messy person) and a shower with no tub. You may have a roommate who likes to come in at 3:00 a.m. while you are getting your beauty sleep for an 8:00 a.m. class. While I am glad I experienced it, I am enjoying my apartment across from campus with my private room and opportunity for a hot bath much more!

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There is a lot of guys and girls from south florida. As a guy i can say that the women look great. Tan and blondes r a dime a dozen. The guys are mostly guidos or south florida/miami gym party ragers. its a good environment.

4 College Senior

Campus Dining: Everyplace around campus is great. definitely recommend it

2 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Pretty Strict – The campus has its own police force. They are an ever present entity. Alcohol and drugs are frowned upion although they may let you slide on the drinks on game day as long as your not endangering anyone else. Dorm rooms are not the greatest. There are random checks.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Not a Big Deal – I know a lot of people in sororities and frats but it's not really a big deal. Most people i know are not in the Greek system, but we do enjoy the parties they throw. They are a big presence when it comes to philanthropic events certain times of the year but life at UCF doesn't revolve around the Greek system

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Pretty Safe – I personally have never felt scared or threatened while on camous. I did hear of thefts and such occuring but have not been a victim. The campus is well lit with a visible police force.

4 College Senior

Computers: Labs, Printing, Etc. Multiple labs, wireless everywhere, select free printing

5 College Freshman

Computers: Their Everywhere!!! They have computer labs with free printing and also computers in the library. I can always find a computer to do my school work.

2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Crime Prone – Im almost always recieving emails about crimes going on around campus. This makes me feel as if i should be on my toes around campus, even though i personally havnt had anything happen to me yet.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: Special Security Measures – Emergency posts all over the campus, easily accessible campus police, bright lights all around campus.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
